Vibe you are going for: Our theme is Luxury Lodge – Krissy made up this term to basically upgrade the trendy rustic weddings into something a little more fancy for the wintertime. We want our wedding to be beautiful, but a ton of fun at the end of the night with great dancing and great people.
Let’s hear your love story!
Our paths first crossed in the summer of 2011. We both joined a singles softball league in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, looking for summer fun, softball and new friendships. At the first event before the season, we were introduced as teammates. Greg didn’t waste a moment and asked for Krissy’s number that first night. We grew close through our love of the NY Giants and traveling the globe. In the last 5 years, we’ve had countless trips to VT and trips to countries like Italy, Israel, Austria, Mexico, Switzerland and more. We’re excited to see where life takes us over the next 5 years and beyond!
What’s your favorite thing to do on any given Saturday together?
If we’re not traveling somewhere, we love to do some sort of outdoor activity (softball, hiking, driving range) followed by an awesome meal with great wine or a fancy cocktail.
What is one trait that you love about in your fiancé?
Greg (about Krissy): I love how much Krissy values family. I couldn’t imagine a better mother to share our children with.
Krissy (about Greg): Greg has an amazing life balance mentality. He has a great ability to work very hard, but also make time to enjoy life and separate his work from this time. I don’t have this ability and so he brings such a great light and influence to my daily life.
Tell us your engagement story.
With Krissy’s obsession with Christmas, we had planned the ultimate European Christmas market tour across Austria and Germany that ended with a ski trip in Switzerland. Greg proposed to Krissy on Christmas Eve in front of one of the largest Christmas trees in the Marienplatz market in Munich, Germany.
How did you decide where you wanted to get married?
About 24 hours after we got engaged, Krissy asked “Any thoughts on where you want to get married?” and Greg read her mind by saying “Vermont” – it was one of the easiest decisions we’ve made!
What has been your favorite part of wedding planning?
The excuse for some extra trips to VT and knowing that it will be one of the biggest family gatherings in many years for Krissy’s very large family. Greg is excited to see all of the pieces coming together as we get closer to the event.
What’s one “genius moment” you had while planning your wedding that was a game changer for you?
Greg says finding an online suit store that was having an awesome sale on custom suits. Krissy says it was when the couple decided to have a rock-tail hour instead of a traditional cocktail hour to give some of their favorite music a time to shine at the wedding.
What do you look forward to the most about being married?
Greg: To me being married is more symbolic than anything. In getting married, we committing our lives to one another forever, and that bond will bring us even closer.
Krissy: I’m looking forward to starting our family together and just planning our future together.
