Let’s hear your love story! We met when Anna was visiting her brother, Owen, in Boston. Weston was also in town from Connecticut visiting a friend, who was Owen’s neighbor. We all ended up at Owens at a party, and we spent the entire night talking, bonding over our musical taste. Weston thought Anna lived in Boston, but called her anyway. In actuality we only lived about 30 minutes away from each other in Connecticut. After our first few dates we pretty much jumped in with both feet. We’ve dealt with a lot of life’s little and not so little challenges since we’ve been together. We’ve moved (many times), adopted a dog, dealt with birth, and death, and celebrated a lot of accomplishments, as well as built each other up during hard/stressful times. We are excited to make it official and continue building our life and our home together.
What’s your favorite thing to do on any given Saturday together? Either spend the night on the couch with Mahoney, our pit bull, or walk downtown for some live music and hopefully some dancing!
What is one trait that you love about in your fiancé?
Weston: Her determination, and drive to succeed, at whatever she sets her mind to.
Anna: He’s a goof when he wants to be, but at the same time, is the one of the most thorough, and precise people I’ve ever met, and always with a sense of humor. Also he can build / remodel / cook just about anything!
How did he pop the question? Last summer we decided to pick up and move from Connecticut to the New Hampshire Seacoast to lay down roots close to family, in a area rich in culture and nature. We had a party to say goodbye to all our friends, and while everyone was outside, Weston started a little speech thanking everyone for coming. He then got down on one knee, and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him…
Who was the first person you told about your engagement? Most of our friends, and Anna’s brother was there. We called Anna’s sister and brother in law first, then our parents. It took them a little while to pick up!
How did you decide where you wanted to get married? Before we got engaged, we thought how fun and enjoyable it would be to get married on Anna’s folks land.
What has been your favorite part of wedding planning? Lots of our loved ones have had a hand in helping to plan and create things for our wedding, which has been a lot of fun. We are making a lot of touches ourselves too, including part of the favors. We are growing the flowers on the farm, and putting all the center pieces and bouquets together the day before, inviting family and friends to help. We love brewing beer, so we’ll be brewing a keg or two for the festivities, and Weston’s even building the bar! Its been really fun to try and keep it all local and exploring our new home while planning.
What do you look forward to the most about being married?
Weston: enjoying life, that much more.
Anna: Calling him my husband!
