Let’s hear your love story! As told by Chatham: “We were set up by some mutual friends. Our first couple dates were running together. We fell in love talking about our hopes and dreams and encouraging each other to achieve them and take risks.”
As told by Charlie ” We fell in love by spending time together and realizing how similar we are, but also how different we can be. We compliment each other so well. Chatham pushes me to be more open and loving and I keep her grounded. ”
How did you/he pop the question? We were on a two-week trip to Asia through China and Thailand. On our last night of the trip in Bangkok, I proposed in our hotel room on one knee… while holding my cell phone with a picture of the ring!
Who was the first person you told about your engagement? Chatham’s Dad answered the phone first!
In Thailand we joined the Hash House Harriers for an afternoon jog in the countryside outside of Chiang Mai. Then we went on a bike trip from that city to another city (it took four days of biking). It was life changing – we stopped along the way and learned how the local farmers farm- we even got to help a little bit. The picture we attached is of us at one of the hotel pools after a long day of biking.What was the scariest moment of the trip? The scariest moment of the trip for me was when I did “Fish Feet Massage” and stuck my feet in a tank full of large catfish – they supposedly exfoliate your skin but it felt too much like biting… Obviously my favorite moment of the trip was when Charlie proposed, but I also really like learning how to stand up on the bike and feel comfortable for the first time.
How did you decide where you wanted to get married? We thought it would be special to get married in the place that is dear to our hearts and feels like a little piece of heaven on earth! My parent’s peaceful backyard.
Your Mom’s backyard is going to be so precious! It is so special that you have so many memories there, and this one will be a contender for an all-time favorite one! Was your mom stoked when you asked her?I think my mom was excited about having it in the backyard – at least, I hope so!
What has been your favorite part of wedding planning? Finding the PERFECT dress!
Is there anything that you are making yourself for the wedding? Not so far! but never say never
What are you honeymoon plans? We are still deciding… hints?!!??!

As you can see, these two are stellar together and we cannot wait to photograph their wedding in our home state of North Carolina.
