Vibe you are going for: Party time! Lots of fun and dancing 🙂
Let’s hear your love story!
S: We met a while back when we were just kids at Fairfield University! Our first dates were in some of the most romantic places like the dining hall, the library, and the dorm study lounge. I remember having fun spending hours together in the library studying for finals.
J: Ha! We knew if we could make finals fun, this was the real deal!
S: We’ve filled the 6 years since we’ve graduated with many adventures and LOTS of laughs – and now we get to continue for the rest of our lives. 🙂
What’s your favorite thing to do on any given Saturday together?
S: A Saturday with no plans? Amazing!
J: Yes! I’d say just relax and hang out together – sounds boring, but we do it any chance we get
S: My favorite thing would be to make breakfast together and then head out to a beautiful place by the water. We love the water – oceans, lakes, it doesn’t matter – we don’t discriminate.
What is one trait that you love about in your fiance?
S: His genuine kindness and all around goofiness – and the fact that he’s made it his goal to not go a day without making me laugh! (so far so good)
J: We can be weird together – and we laugh a lot!
How did you/he pop the question?
S: John asked me to marry him in my absolute favorite place in the world – on a beach in R.I. We were on vacation with my family. We were only about an hour into our vacation, so the moment definitely took me by surprise! We were sitting on the same beach that I’ve been going to since I was a baby, and he instantly topped the list of memories that have been made in that place. He made me a scrapbook filled with pictures and notes from all of our years together, and then asked me to be his wife so we can make many more memories and fill up the rest of the scrapbook. Of course I said yes!
J: Scrapbook + beach = <3
Who was the first person you told about your engagement?
S: Since we were on vacation with my family, they were the first to know. Of course, they all knew before I did, so I guess I was the last to know! We spent a couple of hours that night calling the rest of our family and friends to share the good news. 🙂
How did you decide where you wanted to get married?
S: We knew we wanted to get married in New England, but ultimately Portsmouth kept topping our list. I grew up near there and knew how beautiful it was
J: We wanted to be close to the water and we both love Portsmouth, so it was actually pretty easy
What has been your favorite part of wedding planning?
S: I love that we get to share the wedding planning with our family and friends – it’s been so fun to see the excitement that they have! Being able to share our excitement with our loved ones has definitely been a blessing.
J: I’m going to go super dude on you and say all of the food tasting. So good! I can also tell you one of my least favorite parts was registering. Me + hours in a store = cranky haha.
What do you look forward to the most about being married?
J: Officially being a family and knowing I’m spending the rest of my life with my weirdo best friend.
S: I’m excited to spend the rest of our lives together and build a future – I can’t wait for all of our adventures to come!
