Boise Idaho Wedding

You met these guys last week for their engagement session but today you get to see their sweet wedding. Dan has been a friend of the groom since college and they are really close. It was a huge honor to be able to see them get married, especially since it was a wedding with only 10 people in attendance. Yeah. It was a little one. You’ll even see Dan make an appearance in this post.

They have only been dating since November and they just knew it was forever. I adore stories like that and I am completely on board with it. When you know, you know. They are crazy in love and its a joy to be in the presence of.

Two Lights Wedding: Jen and Khaled

This wedding was right up our street. Khaled and Jen are warm, inviting, comfortable, confident, and have built a local empire together, in addition to building a family and life together. Yeah… all that.

These two own two local businesses (The Blue Lobster and The Scenic Route Maine Tours), have two children and have more than one additional family and friends that live with them too. They have been together for ages. After crushing it at life for so long, all they had left to do was get married.

It was a misty rainy kind of day and they decided to keep with the plan and get married in the rain. We LOVED it. There were lots of umbrellas and no one melted like the wicked witch. I also loved that all the men had raindrop spots on their suits during the family formals and the wedding party photos after the ceremony. It was unique and super cool to us. After the ceremony and portraits, we headed back to their home for the reception. One of my favorite moments of the night was that their kids refused to let them have the first dance all alone. After about 2 seconds, they ran on to the dance floor and wanted to participate. I guess that kinda sums up the wedding in a way… in a good way.

Side note: I also sprained my ankle at this wedding, right after the ceremony, and proceeded to walk over 3.5 miles throughout the rest of the day according to my Fitbit. Two weeks of rest, ice, compression, and elevation followed but it was totally worth it. Thanks to Khaled’s dad, all the way from Saudi Arabia, for being the nicest kindest most concerned person ever for me, after watching me tumble head over heels down the stairs. Even Dan wasn’t as kind as you that day. You were the sweetest. <3

Hanover New Hampshire Wedding: Nji and Russell

Nji and Russell’s wedding was one that we will lovingly refer to as one of “the big ones” of 2015. They pulled out all the stops, from tuxedos to designer gowns, gorgeous flowers to tasty dinner, beautiful lighting at the reception and a gorgeous ceremony location. The only thing that they couldn’t plan on was the weather, which did rain. You might think that would put a damper on such an event but no. I wish you could have been there to see just how positive and upbeat and “no worries man” they were about the showers. Talk about rolling with the punches! After a run through the rain, they married one another in the presence of friends and family that came from literally all over the world. This was also the wedding with the tallest bridesmaids that there has ever been in the history of weddings! For the first time ever in my photography career, I wasnt the tallest girl in the room, and not by a long shot. Over six feet was the norm with these volleyball ladies and they all wore heels too. It was fabulous!

The dance party was on point, and reiterated the fact that New Yorkers know how to throw a party. Nji’s brother even dropped a new single debut at the reception! The speeches had guests crying from love and laughter. It was clear that this marriage was one that everyone was thrilled about, and we were thrilled to have been there.

Emily and Jason’s Castine Maine Wedding

We love this family. Emily is part of the famous Russell family, through which we have met and photographed some of the most fun couples there are! Remember Lyndsey and Ben? Hillary and Matt? Emily and Kate? All from this family and friends. Emily and Jason’s wedding took place right at the edge of a cliff on the gorgeous coast of Maine. There was a refreshing ocean breeze blowing as she walked down the aisle to marry her (now) husband. It was such a heartfelt ceremony, with many stories, prayers, and reading, including a thank you from the couple themselves. Some of the lines in their vows were so romantic I definitely shed a tear, to happy to see them become husband and wife. They need to be married. All is right with the world now that they are .

After such a romantic ceremony, all that was left to do was party! All their guests headed up to The Manor Inn and we took a few photos before heading up ourselves. Toasts, special dances, cake cutting, and then a dance party not to forget!

Pat and Amanda’s Sugarbush VT Wedding

Pat and Amanda… the couple we were late to their 6:00am engagement session for… sigh. Answering the phone that morning in my pajamas sent my blood to run cold. We felt so bad we believed they would hate us forever. On the contrary, Pat and Amanda are gracious, forgiving, and just too in love to worry about that kind of thing. I can assure you were were there the night BEFORE their wedding.

God was blessing this day with some sprinkles and best of all, a majestic overcast sky. It was was ridiculously beautiful in Vermont that weekend, and it was hard not to believe it was that way just for the wedding of Pat and Amanda. As you will see, the landscape was over the top lovely and the couple was rivaling that with their looks. Despite a hot church with no a/c, the ceremony was respectful and beautiful. We went up to the top of a mountain for the portraits and it was worth the drive, let me tell you. Afterwards we all headed to their reception at the Sugarbush Resort, where we danced the night away.
