Bridal Portraits… I am currently confused and wondering if I am completely out of touch.
As a southerner, who learned from a southern photographer, a Bridal Session was simply something that we almost always did as a part of a wedding collection. Dan and I have noticed that it has not been something our New England ladies have been looking for and we wanted to see if we could convince you of the awesome.
Our girls would get all “fancified”, have their hair and makeup done, imagine up an incredible theme and we would go to work. It was really fun, really focused, and the girls left with a handful of images that they would use to always remember their wedding look. Often times this session allowed the girls to just go wild with ideas for how they wanted to portray themselves as a bride. Its an awesome way to set up an editorial style session, where the vibe, accessories, and mood are all very planned out. Timeline is not a concern, nor is the stress of the wedding day. It’s just a “get beautiful” and have fun kind of a day.
In the “olden days”, these images were shot in a studio, (think about your grandma’s photo that she has hanging up in her dining room). They were printed and displayed at the wedding reception and then hung up in the couples home for the rest of time. Nowadays, the photo is still used in that way, but they are no way near as formal. We would LOVE to encourage our brides to do this, if anything just for the fun of it.
Because we really dig them, I, Bethany want to give one away. If you want to have a bridal session with your’s truly (no Dan… boys just don’t mix with the mood), let me know by posting a comment below. One lucky lady will have a FREE Bridal Session. The only requirement is that you have your Hair and Make-up professionally done, you wear a wedding dress, and I get to choose the location.
By the way… you can do this even if you have already had your wedding!!!
Here are a few of my favorite sessions that have been photographed by some of my favorite Southern photographers, to get your creative mind flowing. Get inspired like I have!
