For Couples: Burying a bottle o’ bourbon

In the south there are a lot of old wives tales that people swear by. We have heard a lot of them, but this one was a first for us! We were having lunch with our September 22 couple, Chatham and Charlie, two weeks ago in NC. They told us about one such wives tale that they took part in to keep rain away on their wedding day. It is said that if you bury a bottle of Bourbon in the ground a month before your wedding day (where you are getting married) that the rain will stay away! Fingers crossed.

“We bought a bottle of bourbon, found a shovel in the garage and headed for the place in our backyard where we will say our vows. and we started digging (well really it was Charlie who was digging). Our friend Jason lent us a much better shovel and together we were able to dig a decent hole. We are hoping that we will please the Bourbon Gods so there will be sunny skies and perfect weather on our wedding day!”- Chatham

Pretty cool eh? Here are few photos Chatham sent me showing the event. Now run and get your shovels friends!

Hey there!

This is a photo of me in a burger bar in Stockholm Sweden. I am about to drink the best beer I have ever had. It's a pretty important photo of me. I just remember feeling filled with joy and so so glad to be alive. That's a good place to start on getting to know me.

I like to travel.

I like beer.

I like the person who was across the table from me. Any guesses who?
