Penobscot Maine Wedding: Katie and Dylan

O hello there, gorgeous wedding!

This one you guys… the light was absolutely the best of the year and we were freaking out you guys. I think Katie and Dylan thought we had lost our ever loving minds. If you guys see them, please tell them we aren’t always that squirrel-like, running around crazy. Ok? Thanks.

Beside the INSANE light during portraits, there we a lot of other wonderful things about these two and their wedding day. It took place at Dylan’s family home, along the water in Penobscot Maine. Both he and his father are artists, so they had the dinner inside his dad’s art studio. It was incredible to see all those loved ones, sitting at long beautiful tables inside such an important place. Being able also to hear the love around the room, from the toasts and speeches, it was clear to us that these two are very very very adored and highly esteemed. After the dinner, everyone headed to the dancing tent for some rowdy dancing and good fun music.

One of my favorite parts of the day was not a thing at all, but a feeling. It felt good. It felt right. It felt easy and comfortable. That is exactly how a wedding should feel don’t you think?

Katie and Dylan, can we be friends with you guys now ok?

Hebron New Hampshire Wedding: Stephen and Bree

Man do we love an intimate wedding. Its one of those things where all the extra stuff is boiled down and all that’s left are the essentials. Don’t get us wrong… we do love living that extra life but we love the pure simplicity too. Stephen and Bree brought their closest friends and family to New Hampshire to celebrate their wedding. Their ceremony was so heartfelt, handmade, personal, and emotional. It seemed that everyone there was so so happy to see these two get married, and being surrounded by that energy is the best. I’m sure you can imagine it.

After the ceremony, we took a handful of portraits and moved on to lawn games, drinks, and laughs. The kids even found a new friend in a cricket, who I imagine was a bit scared since there wasn’t a lot of jumping coming from it. Next was dinner and toasts, cake cutting, more portraits.. and then… a Piñata for the party! I was walking outside to get a photo of the scene as the sun was setting and noticed one of the most electric HOT PINK sunsets I’ve ever seen. Everyone ran outside and we enjoyed nature showing off. It was such a pretty and sweet wedding.

Kennebunkport Wedding: Lara and Jeff

Chill. Cool. Stylish.

Those are the three words that come forward first when I think of Lara and Jeff’s Kennebunkport Wedding. There are a lot of other positive words I can say but those are the ones at the forefront. These two ooze cool vibes, without the vibes of “too cool for you.” That is the best kind of cool doncha think? Of course, they are both good looking beyond belief, but what really sets these two apart is that love that they share for one another. I literally overheard a guest saying to another “They are SO IN LOVE!” during the dancing, while Lara and Jeff were in their own little world on the dance floor. It was really really evident and that’s the only wish we have for any of our clients.

Some of the details I loved from the day were, of course, Lara’s dresses (plural) and shoes. I also loved the rainbow bridesmaids dresses, Jeff’s blue suit, that Dan stayed OUTSIDE the reception tent for the introductions to get a whole new perspective, the weather, the trees, the cake cutting, the hora, and the happy happy feeling that I could feel all day from everyone. Can you tell I enjoyed myself?

See for yourself you guys…

Broadturn Farm Wedding: Rachel and Ryan

A very Maine wedding that didn’t even involve the ocean? Yup! Rachel and Ryan did it and we were impressed. First, Rachel got ready at an Airbnb in the Old Port of Portland, which felt very Maine-y to me. It’s rare we get to work in the Old Port for a wedding so it was fun to be downtown in the hustle. Then we headed out to Scarborough to Broadturn Farm, a local flower farm. We see their flowers so often living here. They are even sold in bouquets at our local grab and go neighborhood grocer. Heck, they did the flowers for the wedding we did the weekend before!! It was so fun to see a wedding held on their property and man o MAN did Rachel and Ryan do it beautifully.

We met at the farm for their first look, which began the rest of the wedding day’s events. It also marked the start of Rachel laughing almost the whole rest of the day. These two were SO easy to photograph because they literally just laughed and kissed and hugged and smiled with each other the whole time.

The ceremony was officiated by one of their best friends and then the party began: never-ending dinner and drinks and hugs. What more could you ask for really?

Freeport Maine Wedding: Diana and Sam

Supposedly this is the last season that the Wolfes Neck Barn will have weddings, so we felt especially special that we got to be there for one of the last weddings. Diana and Sam live in DC and wanted a destination wedding up here in marvelous Maine and they found such a great space to do so in my humble opinion. I even stood back a couple of times, admiring just how lovely this wedding really was. I can’t imagine just how cool it felt to be a guest.

After getting ready, they headed to Wolfes Neck for their first look in the forest. Both of them cried tears of joy when they saw one another, which we loved. Of course. Then we all headed over to the barn to check out the setup, do some family portraits, and get ready for the ceremony. Once they had made their relationship into a marriage via a few promises and a few signatures, it was party time. The barn was looking so so pretty and smelling like a delicious dinner. Everyone seemed to be really enjoying themselves, ourselves included. I really felt like the night rocketed by at warp speed and before I knew it we were hugging them goodbye. Please come to visit us again soon Diana and Sam!
