Newegan Seaside Inn Maine Intimate Wedding: Mikhaila and Steve

Intimate weddings are among our most favorite weddings to photograph because of the honest simple and true nature they hold. We are always honored to be a part of them and this sweet wedding of Mikhaila and Steve is no different. Set in beautiful Mid-Coast Maine, they said their vows in front of the people they hold the dearest in their lives. There to confirm and affirm their love…

After witnessing their ceremony, we took them over to one of our favorite spots in Maine to photograph and let me tell you, this location NEVER ceases to amaze me with its beauty. Newagen, you have a gem. Mikhaila and Steve, well never forget your wedding day. Smiles and adoring love always shine the brightest.

Millinocket Maine Wedding: Rebecca and Tristan

We were shocked when Rebecca talked to us for only a few minutes, asked hardly any questions, and was ready to book us for her wedding to Tristan. This woman knows what she wants! We headed up to the wilds of Maine, away from the ocean, which is a rare thing for us. After having a tiny picnic lunch in Baxter State Park before the weddings, Dan and I were super excited for this lakeside wedding, knowing the vibe of the day was already looking great.

They both got ready in a cabin on-site and were all in on a windy rainy first look. Another good sign in our books. A ceremony with an iconic Maine backdrop, complete with a group beer/wine cheers during the ceremony itself. Are you seeing the signs now too? The night finished out with drinks, dinner, and dancing and…. a frikin’ rainbow.

Don’t rainbows count as good signs? Yeah, I’m pretty sure they do.

Rockland Maine Wedding: George and Bryson

When you grew up overlooking Rockland Harbor, there really is no other place to get married. George and Bryson said their vows to one another on her parent’s lawn, overlooking a view she had seen ever since she was a little girl. This time though, it took on a whole new meaning as the place she and George became husband and wife!

Her parents own a boatyard and they cleared a space among the boat stands and sails for a wedding tent. All their family and friends came up to Rockland for the party and showered them with well wishes, hugs, and kisses. I’ll always remember just how much fun it seemed everyone was having, laughing and playing lawn games and dancing like it was the end of time. A happy day indeed.

Middletown CT Wedding: Erin and Tommy

Erin and Tommy. Where do I even start? We have known Erin’s family since almost the beginning of our wedding photography career since we photographed her sister Lyndsey’s wedding back in 2012. Sometimes clients definitely move into a special place in our lives and these sisters are some of those special ones. Tommy is a new friend to us and we are so so happy Erin has snagged him as her husband.

Tommy got ready in a family home and Erin in a nearby hotel. We all piled in a party bus and headed to the church for the Catholic ceremony, rich with Polish elements since “Tommy” is actually Tomasz. After the receiving line, we headed to the reception. When I saw the light strings all along the walls and draping the dancefloor I was stoked! There were lovely Polish traditions along with Polish music to keep that heritage strong. Being able to photograph new and different things to us, is always an exciting part of weddings. It was one of those nights that we really wanted to stay late into the party but after all that dancing and photographing we were spent.

Portland Maine City Hall Elopement: Ellen and Lydia

Lydia & Ellen spend their last day in New England getting married! Having lived in Boston for a while, they were moving back to Chicago, but not before they became Wife and Wife. Talk about going out from New England in style!

They love hiking together and a good beer and this elopement included a teeny bit of both, (if you count the trails of Two Lights State Parks as a hike). We met them at the Press Hotel and headed across the street to Portlands beautiful City Hall, where they were married. Afterwards, we took a few portraits in the City Hall itself, even running into the Mayor! He took us up into the rarely seen Cupola which had us all stoked. The views of the city from there are so good and rare to get a chance to see.

Next, we went to Two Lights State Park and took a few photos out in the lovely Maine outdoors. The coast was looking fly as always and it was fun to show it off to Ellen and Lydia, who had not been to that park before. Lastly, we all piled into the car for a trip to Bissell Brothers where we shared a drink to celebrate. Well call it the Wedding Reception and we loved it.
