For Photographers: CoSchedule

As promised, I want to dig in and tell you all about CoSchedule, a tool I can’t blog without that I mentioned in this previous post: For Photographers: Keeping and Updated Blog.

I mentioned in that post that I use CoSchedule to schedule out all our blog posts throughout the year. That’s true however we use it for a lot more than just that, which we will dig into in this post.

First, let me just tell you what CoSchedule is. We use it integrated into our wordpress blog as a scheduler, content planner, and share-er. It does a lot of other things like team organization and marketing projects, but for us right now we stick to those first three things I mentioned.

Scheduling: This is the most powerful aspect of CoSchedule for us and the way we like to run our blog. Since we blog every single wedding and session, we have a lot of content to share with you guys. We also want to have new work to share all year-round, not just during wedding season. Last year we decided to just post at least one blog post a week, and each week would be a new wedding or session. That way we have new work going up almost all year round! Is kind of hard to keep it all organized, especially when you are looking weeks and even months into the future so this is where the CoSchedule calendar comes in for us. We can see what content we have coming up and where we have openings. We can DRAG AND DROP blog posts into different days if we want to reschedule things. You know you’re jealous of that.

Content Planning: I like to see what we have scheduled out and written so far so that I can see what we need to write. I can use our Coschedule calendar as an overview of everything coming up on the blog and see what’s missing. Since we have a couple of different blog categories, I can quickly see if we are heavy on one type and if we need more in another category. I keep a running list of blog post ideas that I want to write so when I sit down to write a blog post, I look and see what we are missing, and write one for that category. Boom!

Sharing: Now this is the perfect place for the “praying hands” emoji: 🙏 Thank the Lord for this lovely tool within CoSchedule. People are lazy. I dont like to manually go to blogs to see if there is a new post and neither does anyone else. Unless you are a nerd like me and you use a blog feed and/or reader, you only know there is a new post if someone tells you. I love sharing our blog post on all our social media platforms to get the word out since I spend a long time on these things! That being said, I can’t be bothered to do that on every channel, each time, no matter what else is going on in my world. Each blog post has this nifty little section at the bottom where I can schedule out all the social media I want for the post Im working on. I have our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest all connected. For each post I like to schedule out a couple of things so that I can set it and forget it! On the day the blog post posts, all I have to do is pat myself on the back.

Now you can see why this is rad… but the most rad thing is that during the hectic wedding season, I have one less thing to remember. That to me is priceless.

Hey there!

This is a photo of me in a burger bar in Stockholm Sweden. I am about to drink the best beer I have ever had. It's a pretty important photo of me. I just remember feeling filled with joy and so so glad to be alive. That's a good place to start on getting to know me.

I like to travel.

I like beer.

I like the person who was across the table from me. Any guesses who?
