I have said it before and I will say it again, our clients are the salt of the earth. We are constantly shocked and awed by the thoughtfulness and the love that we are blessed with from them. Gifts are always a shock to me because I feel like we are just doing our job, but there are close bonds that we have with our clients and these past few weeks it has been showering upon us. I am humbled and overwhelmed.
Emma and Tate gave us a handmade bowl. A birch tree fell in her parents yard and a local artisan made bowls from the tree. There were used on her table settings at her reception. It is so incredibly beautiful and almost everyone who visits mentions that they love it. We adore it and think of Emma and Tate daily!
Hillary and Matt have only spent a few hours with us. We photographed their engagement session. Since then they have sent a ton of people our way, some of which we are actually working with next year! Besides doing that for us, they mailed us a heartfelt card, (that made me cry) and these New England gifts that I adore. Im all about Nautical anything and who doesn’t NEED a lobster beer opener? I mean seriously.
Becca’s mother is an oil pastel artist and they blew me away with an ORIGINAL piece for our home. If you know me, you know that I actually have completely run out of wall space in my current house because I adore framed art. I have a gallery wall in almost every room. #icanthelpmyself The perfect gift for me anytime ever is art. See? What is even more amazing is that our living room is decorated in orange, and blue. No lie.
Lastly, I experienced the love of the Father in Christ through this here pillow. Now I know that sounds absolutely insane, but hear me out. I don’t believe in coincidence. I have wanted one of these pillow for almost a decade it feels like. I have never thought I would ever have one since they are somewhat pricey, (although completely and totally worth it since they are HAND-STITCHED). Our family experienced a very complicated loss this past week. It is heartbreaking and upsetting and angering and many other emotions that are hard to articulate and reason out. During a gloomy morning, Dan opened the door to a package. Inside was this pillow and it was a gift from Lisa and Andy. Their one year anniversary was this month and they gave US a gift. Who does that? It was a faith marker for me. It reminded me that the Father in heaven sees me, and he sees even the smallest needs and wants of my heart and that he is with me. THAT is the kind of clients that we have and work with. Now of course Lisa and Andy could not have know this, but they have hearts open to graciousness and thoughtfulness, and my Father in Heaven worked through that. Humbled, loved, and blown away.
“Do not fret because of those who are evil
or be envious of those who do wrong;
2Â for like the grass they will soon wither,
like green plants they will soon die away.
3 Trust in the Lord and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
4 Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him and he will do this:
6 He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun.
