Let’s talk about a first look, meaning when a Bride and Groom opt to see one another before the ceremony.
It is a huge trend in weddings right now and there is good reason for it. We love it because it tends to be an incredibly intimate, and honest moment that our couples can share together alone on their wedding day. You didn’t think you’d get to be alone on your wedding day did you? Well, alone time is hard to come by on a wedding day. Unless you sneak away for a minute or two, you will probably only be alone when you get in the car to drive away, and that is only if you drive your car yourself. I remember our wedding day and how much I just wanted to spend a few moments with Dan… and feel like ourselves. He stole me away, I’m talking whisked me away, immediately after the ceremony. We were able to steal a few moments alone and they are some of my most precious moments of our whole day. I know when I am talking about a first look, you aren’t really alone since we will be there with you, photographing the moment, however we can make it feel pretty private, which is something really special on a wedding day.
Imagine feeling like you can simply walk up to one another and take in the moment, quietly, privately, and honestly. No need to think about everyone else watching your moment unfold. You can simply BE.
Part of me wishes that Dan and I had done this, just because it is so intimate. I know that it isn’t for everyone, and that is completely ok. We just want to make sure you know what’s up when you make that decision.
