It’s New Years Eve and THANKFULLY we have a super sweet new ride to get us to Kathleen and Jacob‘s wedding today!
Dan and I rocked a Toyota Echo up until about three weeks ago. It had been by our side for over a decade. My grandfather bought it for me when I was a senior in high school and “the echo” has been a staple in my life since then. (See photo below) It has driven me to 45 concerts in college, all one band. It has been the place where I broke up with 3 boyfriends, (good riddance obviously). It has never failed me ever. Once we moved to the outer banks and here, we sold Dan’s car and drove the echo everywhere for the past 3 years since it was our exclusive car.
Well funny story, at Nicole and Brian’s wedding, en route to the ceremony, Dan rear ended Brian’s dad. Yes…. we hit the father of the grooms car on the way to the wedding ceremony. WHAT?!?!?!?!? It was NOT funny then, but man is it funny now. He was of course incredibly gracious to Dan, and along with Brian, they kept the story secret until after the wedding. Nicole and I never knew. Apparently they were winking at each other and joking behind our backs the whole day. Men.
A week later, we were rear-ended. This totaled the echo, and therefore got us off our feet and into a car dealership to seal the deal on our Subaru Forester, or “My Bü” as I will call her now. Dan calls her “the Soob”. EIther way… we have a new chariot and will be heading up to the snowy wedding in style today. It all happened none to soon considering the downfall of snow yesterday and the day before.
