Preserve at Chocorua Wedding: Jay and Kristen

Kristen and Jay are nothing if not fiercely persistent and determined. In this way, they MADE their wedding happen, and not only HAPPEN but SHINE in this time of social distancing and Coronavirus. The guest list was modest, the tables were far apart. Tests we taken. Travels plans made. And then… the wedding took place!

They opted for a first touch, which is kind of like a first look but instead of actually seeing each other, they just held hands on either side of a door and had a little “hello i love you” moment before their ceremony. Super cute.

Take a look at the way they made their 2020 wedding happen…

North Haven Island Maine Wedding: Liv and Cole

I have to say, a North Haven Wedding is always going to be special. Perhaps its the challenge of having a wedding there in the first place. Perhaps it’s the ferry ride, marking a difference between mainland and island. Perhaps is the people who live on the island. Perhaps it’s just that magic North Haven something… whatever it is… it’s real.

Liv and Cole decided to invest the time and effort and made their wedding happen on this dreamy island and we are so so happy we were there. The boys started the day with a swim, while the bride’s crew hung out in a CLASSIC Maine cabin. Liv got ready outside in the sunshine and then took a quick wade in the ocean before heading over to Turner Farm to meet Cole for their first look.

The sky opened up with a squall right before the ceremony, having us all watching the radar to see how long we needed to wait before we could have the ceremony. I love it when weddings are chill enough that we can wait it out. The ceremony was blessed with amazing skies behind thanks to the storm. With a lot of cows present along with the guests, we all watched these two become husband and wife!

New Hampshire Wedding: Shannon and Josh

There was a lot going on this wedding day. The weather was absolutely nuts, with snow, sleet, freezing rain, rain, clouds, and sunshine. Some parts of the day made it impossible to take photos outside, while other parts of the day were absolutely beautiful for them. Thankfully Shannon and Josh were easy-going all day long, chill and laid-back, and simply over the moon to be getting married. There seemed to be nothing else that they cared about other than each other and making their love story officially official. I adore when couples are this way, and no mud on the bottom of her dress was going to stop her from making the most of the weather that day.

Josh cried when she walked down the aisle to him, a moment I’m sure we all were moved by. They said “Yes,” to each other and they were finally married! One thing I adored about this day was their focus on one another. They ate together, laughed together, and, in a rarely seen event on wedding days, they danced together almost the whole night! It was a PARTY to say it lightly, and they spent almost the whole dance party by each other’s side. You gotta love that. This was a fun wedding to end our 2018 season on.

Hebron New Hampshire Wedding: Stephen and Bree

Man do we love an intimate wedding. Its one of those things where all the extra stuff is boiled down and all that’s left are the essentials. Don’t get us wrong… we do love living that extra life but we love the pure simplicity too. Stephen and Bree brought their closest friends and family to New Hampshire to celebrate their wedding. Their ceremony was so heartfelt, handmade, personal, and emotional. It seemed that everyone there was so so happy to see these two get married, and being surrounded by that energy is the best. I’m sure you can imagine it.

After the ceremony, we took a handful of portraits and moved on to lawn games, drinks, and laughs. The kids even found a new friend in a cricket, who I imagine was a bit scared since there wasn’t a lot of jumping coming from it. Next was dinner and toasts, cake cutting, more portraits.. and then… a Piñata for the party! I was walking outside to get a photo of the scene as the sun was setting and noticed one of the most electric HOT PINK sunsets I’ve ever seen. Everyone ran outside and we enjoyed nature showing off. It was such a pretty and sweet wedding.

Broadturn Farm Wedding: Rachel and Ryan

A very Maine wedding that didn’t even involve the ocean? Yup! Rachel and Ryan did it and we were impressed. First, Rachel got ready at an Airbnb in the Old Port of Portland, which felt very Maine-y to me. It’s rare we get to work in the Old Port for a wedding so it was fun to be downtown in the hustle. Then we headed out to Scarborough to Broadturn Farm, a local flower farm. We see their flowers so often living here. They are even sold in bouquets at our local grab and go neighborhood grocer. Heck, they did the flowers for the wedding we did the weekend before!! It was so fun to see a wedding held on their property and man o MAN did Rachel and Ryan do it beautifully.

We met at the farm for their first look, which began the rest of the wedding day’s events. It also marked the start of Rachel laughing almost the whole rest of the day. These two were SO easy to photograph because they literally just laughed and kissed and hugged and smiled with each other the whole time.

The ceremony was officiated by one of their best friends and then the party began: never-ending dinner and drinks and hugs. What more could you ask for really?
