Dan and I have been really enjoying the winter here in Maine.
There is really something special in being here for the winter. It’s quiet. It’s private. It feels like time is standing still and the only mark of time passing is the suns coming and going. Every day just seems to pass by quietly without fuss and you are free to pursue what you want without a ton of appointments and to-do lists. The beauty of Maine in winter is honestly, just as beautiful if not more than other seasons. A blanket of white covers everything and homes look cozier. The hearty fisherman still out there getting it done demand your respect. So do the surfers… like my surfer husband.
We have been working on reforming our business to make it excellent in all levels. We have been having coffee together watching the Today show. We have been dreaming up our life goals, the big fun exciting scary ones. We have been missing Hawaii. We have been going on long drives and taking in the blessings of here and now. Dan’s been surfing. All in all, its been an absolutely wonderful season in our lives and I’m in no rush for the snow to leave.
I wouldn’t say no to a trip to Hawaii though. Just saying…
