Rockland Maine Wedding: George and Bryson

When you grew up overlooking Rockland Harbor, there really is no other place to get married. George and Bryson said their vows to one another on her parent’s lawn, overlooking a view she had seen ever since she was a little girl. This time though, it took on a whole new meaning as the place she and George became husband and wife!

Her parents own a boatyard and they cleared a space among the boat stands and sails for a wedding tent. All their family and friends came up to Rockland for the party and showered them with well wishes, hugs, and kisses. I’ll always remember just how much fun it seemed everyone was having, laughing and playing lawn games and dancing like it was the end of time. A happy day indeed.

Middletown CT Wedding: Erin and Tommy

Erin and Tommy. Where do I even start? We have known Erin’s family since almost the beginning of our wedding photography career since we photographed her sister Lyndsey’s wedding back in 2012. Sometimes clients definitely move into a special place in our lives and these sisters are some of those special ones. Tommy is a new friend to us and we are so so happy Erin has snagged him as her husband.

Tommy got ready in a family home and Erin in a nearby hotel. We all piled in a party bus and headed to the church for the Catholic ceremony, rich with Polish elements since “Tommy” is actually Tomasz. After the receiving line, we headed to the reception. When I saw the light strings all along the walls and draping the dancefloor I was stoked! There were lovely Polish traditions along with Polish music to keep that heritage strong. Being able to photograph new and different things to us, is always an exciting part of weddings. It was one of those nights that we really wanted to stay late into the party but after all that dancing and photographing we were spent.

Portland Maine City Hall Elopement: Ellen and Lydia

Lydia & Ellen spend their last day in New England getting married! Having lived in Boston for a while, they were moving back to Chicago, but not before they became Wife and Wife. Talk about going out from New England in style!

They love hiking together and a good beer and this elopement included a teeny bit of both, (if you count the trails of Two Lights State Parks as a hike). We met them at the Press Hotel and headed across the street to Portlands beautiful City Hall, where they were married. Afterwards, we took a few portraits in the City Hall itself, even running into the Mayor! He took us up into the rarely seen Cupola which had us all stoked. The views of the city from there are so good and rare to get a chance to see.

Next, we went to Two Lights State Park and took a few photos out in the lovely Maine outdoors. The coast was looking fly as always and it was fun to show it off to Ellen and Lydia, who had not been to that park before. Lastly, we all piled into the car for a trip to Bissell Brothers where we shared a drink to celebrate. Well call it the Wedding Reception and we loved it.

Brooksville Maine Wedding: Becky and Matt

Becky and Matt were married on family land in Brooksville Maine, overlooking the Eggemoggin Reach on the Penobscot. There were friends camping out, cabins to get ready in, and water all around. Matt spent a CHUNK of time leading up to his wedding, clearing a path and a clearing in the woods for his wedding ceremony, to marry his bride. The iconic romance of this is hard to beat.

They had their first look as he drove up on the boat they got engaged on, and then we headed across the water to the ceremony site. Family and friends surrounded the couple among the tall trees and soft ground. It was a pretty dang magical spot and moment if you ask me. Afterwards, we headed back to the tent for lobster, cooked on site with water from the ocean. Again… pretty dang magical.

One thing I loved witnessing throughout the day, was just how much Becky and Matt not only love one another but how much they themselves are loved by the people in attendance. The things said about both during the toasts were so kind and we wish we knew them both better ourselves judging on that alone! What a great wedding you guys… so good.

French’s Point Maine Wedding: Ashleigh and Josh

When I think of Ashleigh and Josh’s French’s Point Maine Wedding, I think of Tuxedo’s, Pit Bulls, Two Wedding Dresses, Cocktails, and a cotton candy sunset. O and one of the best parties we have ever photographed. That too…

The both got ready on-site, alongside their besties, families, and puppies. After a couple of shots of whiskey (for both of them) they had the ceremony, with music from the Lion King to boot! Ashleigh was born in South Africa, where her parents are from so there were a couple of great African touches throughout the evening. After the ceremony we all headed to the beautiful tent, hearing touching speeches for the couple. At sunset, we hiked down to the water and witnessed a cotton candy sunset. When you see the photos you see what I mean here. IT WAS SO PRETTY OMG!

The night finished off with some of the happiest bounciest jumpiest laughing-est dancing we have ever seen. Well never forget it.
