Kristin and Will’s Saugus MA Engagement Session

If you want to talk about a pretty fall day, we can talk about Kristin and Will’s engagement session at the Breakheart Reservation near Boston, MA. Yes yes, that’s a funny name for a place to photograph true love, but it was actually a blast and a half! The leaves were stunning and it was quiet. Any worries about the light not coming through the trees at the park were wrong. It was lovely! Will knows how to make this lady laugh! She was rockin her carefree giggles the whole time. It was easy as pie to photograph them. Kristin and Will met in college, when she jumped on him one day and said “Hi!” We can tell you the rest of the story when we photograph their wedding next June.

Sarah and Brandon’s New Gloucester, Maine Wedding

We cannot adequately express  how beautiful Sarah and Brandon’s wedding was. If there is a quintessential DIY rustic Maine wedding, it’s this one. From the handmade pennants, (that will be made into a quilt), to the wildflower bouquets, to the Whoopie Pies… everything was adorable. The Merrill Farmhouse at Pineland Farms was the perfect setting for Sarah and Brandon’s wedding. These two live across the country on the west coast, but made it a point to have their wedding waaaay over here on the East Coast. The family and friends were tightly knit, and the speeches even brought tears from the best of them! We had such a good time with them, and wish these two encouragement along their running path, (they run every morning together). Congratulations!

Kristina and Kevin’s North Hampton Beach, NH Wedding

We love this couple. We honestly felt like we were watching two of our friends get married. The day was overcast and slightly chilly as we drove up to the Best Man’s family beachfront cottage, where the wedding was to be held that day. The sky teased us as it sprinkled rain and then stopped and then began again. Kevin was cool as a cucumber when we got there, letting us know the rain plan and the non-rain plan. They took a gamble and set up outside anyway.. and it was perfect. Kristina was precious as she waited to marry her sweetheart, tearing up every so often whenever the reality of what was happening would hit her. It was incredibly endearing. The wedding was very heartfelt, and as the said their vows, the sky started to rain, and rather than that being a bad thing, it felt like a baptism in a way, a coming into a new life as husband and wife. It was perfect. The party that followed was wild! Kristina had warned us about it, but we were definitely not prepared for just how crazy it got. Dancing until shirts come off and pants rip is pretty darn intense don’t you think?

Kristina and Kevin…. we adore you and we are SO happy that you are married now and loving life! Congrats!

Pat and Amanda’s Boston Common Engagement Session

Not a lot of couples are down for an early morning engagement session. Our fall calendar was filling up fast and Pat and Amanda wanted to have their engagement session in the sweet Indian summer we are having here in Boston. When the prospect of that was looking grim, we all came to the conclusion that a crack of dawn session would work out the best. HIGH FIVE to these two! Morning light is delicious as you will see. Pat was such a great sport getting up early to snuggle his future wife in the morning sun. Who can blame him for being completely fine with that? Take a  look at his stunner of a fiance, Amanda. We really enjoyed being with these two, walking in the Commons, the Public Garden, Charles St, and Beacon Hill. We left them feeling high on life. We should do more morning sessions for sure! Pat and Amanda… thank you for spending your early morning with us and being so understanding of what early mornings can be like. 😉

Natalie and Thad’s Peaks Island Maine Wedding

The weather is always a very important consideration for any outdoor wedding, and Thad and Natalie’s wedding was no exception. They lucked out ten-fold with the weather on their wedding day. Dan and I could barely get over how absolutely beautiful it was. The overcast skies made all the colors POP and set a mood that made us feel like Mainers, even with our Carolina blood. The heat stayed away and created a very comfortable setting for their intimate, tender and personal ceremony. We called the only cab on the island and rode out for some couple portraits on the back side of the island. It practically took our breath away. Adding this Navy Helicopter Pilot and his Navy Nurse wife into the scene was almost too much to bear. It was hard to hold the camera steady! As the day progressed we came to learn how close everyone there was to the bride and groom. It felt like an intimate gathering of people who love each other, which is exactly how a wedding should be. Thad was so tender with Natalie, and she was one of the most laid back brides I can remember ever having. Her Maid of Honor made the bouquets and they spent most of the morning decorating the place themselves. It was a sweet wedding to be able to be a part of. Most importantly of all, Natalie and Thad are now married and ready to set sail on the most exciting voyage in life thus far… married life.

P.S.- Yes, there was Lobster!
