Vee and Mike’s Boston Engagement Session

I woke up this morning, (at 4:00 am since I’m still on East Coast time even though I’m in Hawaii), knowing we would be blogging these two soon, the first thing I thought about was how the heck I can ever explain in words what Vee and Mike are really like without sounding like I’m being fluffy and insincere. The reason being, is that they are quite possibly the kindest most cheerful loving people I have ever met. Honestly.

We first met them on skype and seriously couldn’t believe the cuteness. It was that kind of niceness that is genuine and easy and makes you feel good inside. We shot this engagement session within a week of booking with them and when Vee bounded in the bar, she had a birthday/thank you gift in hand for me! Truffles and Maddie on Things… what could be more perfect?

Needless to say, we had a blast with them. We started at the Cask ‘n Flagon, where they first met. Next we played at Fenway, took a cab to the Public Garden, and then over to the waterfront where we took a Boat Taxi around in the harbor just for fun. It was one of those photographer dream sessions.

Thanks you two for making it so fun. Your wedding can’t come fast enough!

Sarah and JT’s New Hampshire Engagement Session

We met up at an office park off a New Hampshire highway. Yes… you read that right. Sarah knew of an office park that had oddly good looking surroundings, like forests, lakes, fields, and gorgeous fall colors. Thanks to her outside of the box creative eye, we got to make magic in an office park for the first half of thier engagement session, and we LOVED it. The fun lies in things like that for us! Sarah is such a natural beauty and that is enhanced by being loved and being in love with her sweet man, JT. They were a breeze to photograph. We basically laughed for 2 hours. After the office park, we headed to the NH coast and enjoyed the beauty of New England. What an awesome place to live. We are huge fans. This is guaranteed to be a fun wedding so do what you need to do to get an invite!

Christa and Nick’s Portland Maine Lighthouses Engagement Session

It was cold outside when we met Christa and Nick at the Portland Head Light. It was one of the first days that it was undeniably “un-summer” and quite possibly “un-fall” at that. Good thing that meant Christa got to rock a military inspired jacket and super cute boots, am I right?? We took some images at one of the most iconic lighthouses in the United States, (yes its the one you’ve seen on every single lighthouse calendar ever). It was fun to add our images to the ever growing collection that exists in this world. After the Portland Head Light, we headed over to the Spring Point Ledge Light, which has an awesome jetty you can walk out on. The light decided to go bananas right at the end and the drama in the images was unmistakable. Hello Dark Skies and bright light! Ill take it!

Christa let it slip that it was her BIRTHDAY! She and Nick spent two hours of it with us, right in front of our cameras. I dare say we felt pretty honored. Typically we encourage our couples to go on a date after the session since they will be all dressed up, fancy, and spent the past couple hours cuddling and kissing. This time though we demanded they did since it was after all, her birthday! Here’s to another year filled with love.

Emily and Jason’s Cape Ann Engagement

Holy Moly Gorgeousness. I swear my hands were trembling during this session, from the amazingness of these two’s chemistry. Every time they had their backs turned, we both eyed each other, wide-eyed. We both knew that we were experiencing one of those engagement sessions that we reference all the time later in conversations like, “Remember Emily and Jason… damn that was awesome.” or “Let’s try and recreate that magic from Emily and Jason’s session.” or “Channel the Emily and Jason session.” or any other kind of reference of that sort. Sometimes you can just tell it’s one of those from the moment you begin.

We met them at a coffee shop in Rockland and immediately headed to Motif #1, the most painted building in the world. After that, we did a few more in town and then headed to a Wingaersheek Beach, stopping at a little field they spotted along the way. Emily got out of the car and had a boyfriend flannel with her. I died. Was this a Nicolas Sparks movie?? I mean really. Who is so awesome that she bring such a legit casual genuine beach outfit with her. It looked like exactly what you would wear if you were hanging out and wanted to run down to the beach for sunset for a little romantic moment with your boyfriend. You nailed it Emily. Nailed it.

After the session, they headed to the Red Sox game… you know the one where Big Papi knocked it outta the park? Yeah… well I think they had a pretty good evening. #gosox

Seriously though… if this is what your engagement session was like, Im going to start a countdown until your wedding day. I’m that excited.

Sara and Brian’s Apple Orchard Maine Engagement

It was apple picking season!!! These two met us at Pine View Orchard; a teeny tiny, but immaculately kept, apple orchard. I swear there wasn’t a speck of non-cuteness anywhere to be found. It was actually shocking. From the moment we got out of the car and gave them hugs, it was overwhelmingly obvious how much Brian loves his Sara. Seriously. Head.Over.Heels. I LOVE to see that and it happened all session. They played and laughed and simply let loose pretty much the entire time. I felt like we had some window into a date they were on. What could be better than that for an engagement session? I mean really.

We spent about an hour in the apple orchard, just walking around and goofing off with apples. I have no idea where all the crazy apple ideas were coming from but Dan and I were out of control with the crazy plans. “Do this… do that… and then this.” They played along entirely with every crazy idea we had. Clients who trust you explicitly are seriously the best kind of clients you can have. Even though we were asking them to do crazy things, they were completely gung-ho. #lovedeveryminuteofthissession

After the orchard, we headed to a little river by the side of the road, and lastly to the Maine State Line for a few photos with the sign, welcoming you to the best state in the USA. I’m not biased or anything. If this session was any indication of their wedding day, Im totally and completely stoked to see them tie the knot.
