York Maine Intimate Wedding: Valerie and Alex

She visited the Nubble Light and thought to herself… if I ever get married, this should be the place. Years later, she made that thought into a reality, marrying the love of her life on the rocks the light house protects ships from. We were SO excited for this wedding of Val and Alex, having photographed their engagement session not too many days before the wedding itself. We were also able to work with the ever talented and bubbly Events by Jackie M, one of our favorite event coordinators! The chemistry between them is WILD and it was a blast to photograph. Their first kiss was a swoopy dip and swept us ALL away. After a ridiculously romantic ceremony, bringing together two families from two parts of the world, they all dined together in nearby Ogunquit at MC Perkins Cove. This was such a sweet wedding to be a part of.

Amy and Dan’s South Paris Maine Wedding

Amy and Dan were married at the top of a mountain, overlooking Maine and even neighboring states and mountain ranges. The approach to the top gave no hint of the unbelievable view upon arrival at The Inn at Pinnacle Mountain.  It was such a gorgeous place to say the vows.

Their wedding was intimate, with only their immediate family attending. After the first look, we went right into the ceremony, with their nerves behind them. A dinner of lobster followed with a hot pink sunset to watch as they celebrated. This wedding was similar to what we had imagined for our own, so we were completely comfortable in that setting with their welcoming family. It was such a good day to be a wedding photographer.

Amanda and Doug’s Buxton Maine Flower Farm Wedding

Ok… Imagine a wedding in a secret clearing in the woods, with gorgeous earth tones and deep purple, with wooden benches for your guests. Now imagine the weather is crisp cool and fresh, with a vibrant sunset and a huge bonfire for your guests to cozy up to when stars come out. Surround yourself by your best friends and close family and enjoy donuts and gelato with wine. Then dance. That right there… was Amanda and Doug’s wedding. Now aren’t you jealous you didn’t get to come too??

They each got ready at separate hotels in Portland and then everyone headed to Buxton Maine where a flower farm was waiting to house the event. It was so so SO pretty!!! Guys!!! Just look!!!

We had really been looking forward to their wedding since we really grew to love them both over the course of time we were working with them. Both are fiercely loving humans who care deeply about one another but also deeply about the people they have in their life. It is an honor to call them friends.

Sara and Brian’s Freeport Maine Wedding

One of the most adoring couples we have ever photographed were married in Freeport, Maine this October. It was a gorgeous day filled to the max with love and fall colors. They got ready at the Harraseeket Inn, which would be the site of their reception too. After getting all dolled up, each took a ride in a Bentley to the ceremony. One funny moment was when we realized there weren’t enough seats for Sara, her parents, her sister, and me to all get to the ceremony in the car together. We ALL jammed in this automobile together like clowns and laughed the entire way to the ceremony. A family friend and priest performed the ceremony, which was full of laughs, unlike the sometimes overly serious ceremonies that happen on wedding days. With a kiss, they exited the ceremony and were back in the Bentley for a little ride around Freeport before heading to their reception. Another moving moment was the mother son dance. I think she was letting the moment really sink in, which I wonder is missed in all the fuss on wedding days. It was touching to all in the room. It was a joy to share the day with these two people who are hopelessly, fiercely, and wildly in love with one another. What more could you ask for?

Kelsey and Chad’s Kennebunkport Wedding

I don’t really know what to say. Im going to try though.

We adore these two human beings. I swear from the moment they walked into the Waban Starbucks to meet with us we loved them. After spending an evening with them for their engagement session we were counting down the days till the wedding day, right along with them. We were SO excited to be their wedding photographers and we were absolutely not wrong in our anticipation of the wedding’s fabulousness. It was incredible. Besides all the gorgeous details, fabulous location, stunning bridal party, classy everything(!), this wedding was 100% focused and the right thing: L-O-V-E! Kelsey and Chad are crazy about each other. It is infectious and every single person at this wedding was SO happy they were getting married. It was a palpable the whole time we were there.

A few of my favorite moments of the day:

  • The first look complete with private tear jerking vows.
  • The way Chad looked at Kelsey all. day. long.
  • Kelsey’s sister’s toast… if there is a perfect sister version of a toast, it was this one. There was not a dry eye in the tent. I wish I could bottle that love up and take it around with me everywhere.
  • During the sunset photos were were out on the beach right in front of the tent. I think every person at the wedding made their way to the edge of the tent and watched. It was so cute! We would turn around and look between shots and everyone would wave!
  • Their friend Brendan took a table cloth off one of the tables and made it into a jump rope during the reception. ’nuff said.
