Potland Headlight Elopement: Renee and Scott

Renee and Scott booked us for their elopement a mere 9 days before their wedding! We were so excited that we were available to photograph it since it was such a close time frame. We also were thrilled to photograph a wedding at one of our own favorite lighthouses.

Lighthouses are a meaningful part of their dating story, so getting married by the iconic Portland Head Light added another lighthouse to their love story. A small gathering of friends and family were witness to these two committing to one another for life. In a short ceremony they spoke their truths and became husband and wife. We spend a little while with them afterwards and photographed them in the park. Then they were off for a dinner of lobster to celebrate.

It was simple and sweet and right up our alley!

Maine Lakeside Wedding: Hannah and Colin

Hanah and Colin got married in Colin’s parents backyard, beside a lake, just at the edge of fall. The air was just the right amount of crisp, perfect for snuggling up and watching people you care about commit their lives to one another. Now Hanah and Colin had long since been committed, having dated for over 10 years. I don’t thing there was a person present who wasn’t thinking “FINALLY!” and that includes the two of them.

The wedding included homemade wine, celtic blessings, oven baked pizza, and my personal favorite… a surprise fireworks show! I also adored her dress, with the lace coverlet for the pre-reception events. These two are well loved by everyone who knows them and it was abundantly clear in the speeches. My favorite part was the reference to Soul Twins. What could be more bonding that being twin souls eh? Another moment that I treasure is riding in the car with Hanah and her Dad on the way to the ceremony. They had a funny song that they wanted to be the father daughter dance but it was vetoed so instead they boogied together in the car to it. A private father daughter dance. Precious.

Simon Pearce Quechee Vermont Wedding

Jess and Eric’s Simon Pearce Quechee Vermont Wedding was truly just as simple, classy, unique, confident, and lovely as they are! Besides from being beyond welcoming to Dan and I, treating us like guests, they shared their love with everyone there. I love going to weddings where its abundantly clear just how much the guests love the that the couple are getting married.  Everyone there was pumped for them! Who would want it any other way?

They had their ceremony at the Wilder Center in Wilder Vermont. Just take a gander at those WINDOWS! We were so stoked. Afterwards, we all headed to Simon Pearce for drinks, dinner, toasts, and lots and lots of love.

Sebago Lake Maine Wedding: Colleen and Dan

“We’re all a little weird. And life is a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutually satisfying weirdness—and call it love—true love.” ― Robert Fulghum, True Love

This quote was the appropriate and embraced theme for Colleen and Dan’s Sebago Lake Maine wedding. They use it to describe their love for one another and I am in love with that! Weird is a really good thing in my opinion and it was a blast to photograph.

Colleen and Dan had their wedding at Camp Mataponi, overlooking Sebago Lake. The got ready in the camp cabins, which had been lodging for many over their guests over the wedding weekend. At the ceremony, one of their dear friends read the book “I like you” by Sandol Stoddard Warburg in its entirety. If you see it while you are out and about I highly recommend you take a moment to read it yourself. Its precious… kinda like this whole wedding day. After the ceremony it was party time, and guest enjoyed a rustic meal at picnic tables inside the camp lodge. The funny and happy and weird and good-times vibe was everywhere and we think Colleen and Dan are fabulous! I cannot begin to tell you how much I laughed at this wedding, Dan being hilarious the entire time. Im so glad we were there.

Bar Harbor Maine Wedding: Danielle and Josh

After over 5 years of photographing weddings, we were finally invited to photograph a big classic wedding at the Bar Harbor Club in Bar Harbor. We have been to photograph engagement sessions, family sessions, and even an elopement… but we really wanted a chance to photograph a full-scale event in one of Maine’s most treasured places. Enter Danielle and Josh…

Danielle and Josh are high school sweethearts! Photographing couples who know each other this well is always fun. There is a comfort there that’s hard to replicate. We have been excited about their wedding ever since their engagement session in Portland. It did not disappoint. Watching Josh wipe tears from both his face and hers during the ceremony was sweeter than sugar. Danielle was dead-set on having her photos taken at the top of Cadillac Mountain, despite a timeline crunch. Having a bride with such a strong commitment to her wedding photos is really the best ever!!! We made it to the top of Cadillac Mountain with 15 minutes to make magic, and we will never ever forget it. Acadia did us all right that day. The sparkler exit finale was electric and the couple ran off into the night together, setting off on their next adventure.
