Camden Maine Wedding: Kristi and Dave

Kristi and Dave love Maine. It’s such a special place to them that they planned their wedding here as a destination so they could share this special place with their closest family and friends. They chose the Camden Public Library as the spot for their ceremony, and alongside their bridal party, with a huge help from their fur-baby as the ring bearer, they became husband and wife. To me, the ceremony was one of the most beautiful and romantic ones I have ever seen. There was a light drizzle in the air, setting a Maine-y mood, which I personally LOVED! Afterwards, they took a boat ride over to the reception, where everyone enjoyed an intimate and snuggly party at the Yacht Club. Good stuff guys… good stuff.

AND their Engagement Session

New Hampshire Lake Wedding: Marie and Mike

For years and years, Marie’s family vacationed to the beautiful Newfound Lake, in Hebron New Hampshire. It really was no question as to where she and her beau Mike would eventually get married. Overlooking her favorite place in the world, surrounded by family and friends, she and Mike said yes to forever. Dan and I found ourselves in one of the most welcoming, fun-loving, energetic group of guests we can remember. From walking into the Inn where the ladies were getting ready to set up in the dancing barn for the party to come, we were greeted with smiles and high energy. It was such a fun day to be a part of.

Some of my favorite memories and mishaps of the day, all gracefully handled:

Marie’s dress taking 45 minutes to get into due to a broken clasp! Marie was a champ and her ladies were rockstars, eventually sewing her into the dress. AND we were on time. Boom!

A delivery set-up car, having its battery die, while it was parked directly in the center of the ceremony area. It was fixed/towed/moved before any of us ladies could learn about it and the problem we solved! Boom times two!

A round of shots with the bridesmaids right before walking down the aisle.

The speeches were absolutely wonderful… a perfect mix of funny and tenderness. Well done everyone. Well done.

The dance party, complete with a flash mob dance by Marie’s family, a custom “shout” towel, made just so Marie could lie down on the floor and not get her dress dirty when we “get a little bit softer now,” and some really romantic husband and wife snuggling in the center of the dance floor.

All in all…. it was a joy.

Southport Maine Wedding: Lex and Rodney

It was a perfect Maine day. The kind of day that brings people here in droves in the summertime. I am sure it was the kind of day that Lex and Rodney were crossing their fingers for ever since their buzzworthy engagement.

As she walked down to him at the end of the aisle he would beam and then look at his feet, all gushy and overwhelmed and adorable. They said “I do” overlooking one of our favorite views in Maine. After the ceremony they both breathed a sigh of relief and goofiness of them both came out in full force. We spend some time with them on a boat, driven by none other than this fine Lobsterman. Then we walked over to the other side of the point and took some fun sunset photos. The party was clearly a ball, with laughs and inside jokes and crazy dance moves. We looked forward to this wedding for a long time and it did not disappoint.

Chester Vermont Wedding: Nick and Devon

Devon and Nick live in sunny California yet they came all the way back to New England for their wedding at a little Inn in Vermont. These two reached out to us in 2013 and we told them we did not book over 18 months in advance so to please come back when the date is closer. Well wouldn’t you know it, Nick reached back out to us exactly 362 days later. We were elated and booked their wedding after over 2 hours on the phone just having a ball getting to know him. When they much anticipated day finally came, it was even greater since this is post June 26, 2015 #SCOTUS #lovecantwait #lovewins and all of that goodness.

They stood facing each other and said some of the most emotional and moving well written vows we have heard. After that it was all hugs and kisses and tears from everyone invited. The party began with an amazing meal, half indian food, half brick oven pizza (I wish I could go back to that right NOW and have it for dinner again). There was dancing of course, and even two caricature artists! It was such a fun wedding to be a part of.

North Berwick Maine Wedding: Anna and Weston

Sometimes a wedding just fits. Anna and Weston’s farm wedding was a perfect picture of who these two are as far as we can tell. They held the wedding a the meeting house just up the road from Anna’s parents Garlic farm, where her parents live and work. Anna wore an heirloom gown that first belonged to her grandmother, then her mother, then her sister, and then her! The flowers were grown on the property too! We loved how involved their fur-baby was in the wedding as well. Mahoney their rescue pup walked down the aisle and sat next to them as they exchanged their vows. If Anna and Weston weren’t being so romantic up there, Mahoney may have stolen the show.

After the ceremony, we took a horse drawn carriage back to the house, where dinner was served in their barn. Next we all moved over the dancing tent and enjoyed music and dancing under a beautiful summer moon.
