It is with a heavy heart the we tell you about the passing of one our friends, Tracy Turpen.  The news was shocking and sudden, and her family, especially her fiance Tyler, and her three year old son Evander, need your prayers.
Tracy was the person who lead us to become wedding photographers. She was an accomplished wedding photographer with accolades and ovations that would stun you. Her work is magical. There is no other word for it. Bethany was blessed enough to work by her side for a year, as her second shooter and intern. We have her to thank for setting our feet on the path to running a succesful wedding photography business. Whenever we are stumped for what to do in a shoot, Dan says “What would Tracy do?” and we get back into the groove. The photography community has lost a gem.
The most important thing is that Tracy was so much more than an artist. We can treasure the fact that we got to know her as a friend. She was a loving mother, and a carefree person, FULL of adventures and ideas with no reservations about going for them. She is, and always will be, loved and missed.

This is all so true. The world was so much more beautiful through Tracy’s eyes and the hole she leaves is too big to fill. Her memory will live on through everyone who has been inspired by her.

Bethany and Dan,
I am so sorry to hear about Tracy. Bethany, I remember when your mom told me that you were offered the internship….how exciting it was for all of us to see someone open a door for you to do something about which you are so passionate. Obviously you saw her gifts and she saw yours. The word that comes to mind is namase: the light in me sees the light in you. And so it shall be with us.

Beautifully written. I love the part where you mention, “what would tracy do.” I do the same thing and I’m sure there are others who use this also. She touched so many lives.
Prayers for y’all and all her family and friends.

I’ve been meaning to write and send our condolences about the passing of Tracy. This is the photographer, I believe, you spoke so highly of when we met you guys for the first time. Dave and I remember how passionately you talked about learning from her…not about photography, but about capturing moments. We were touched by your responses. I’m so so sorry the world lost such an inspiration…to many people it sounds like.
