Grove Park Inn Wedding in Asheville, NC

These two were married at the Grove Park Inn, in Asheville NC.  It was a wedding full of their dearest family and friends and lots charm. The bride got ready with her two bridesmaids who were some of the biggest supports I have ever seen. They had this girls back! Even in the fact of an almost hour long buttoning process for the dress itself… yes. The dress fit perfectly but those little loops for the buttons may have been the wrong size button loops. I swear it was like threading a needle for each one AND a crochet hook was no help. She even went to her first look without all the buttons complete. She wanted to see her man… buttons or no buttons!

Their first look was precious, especially because of how she looked at him the whole time. She was beyond enamoured with him. It was a joy to witness. Afterwards we feverishly finished the buttons before their ceremony overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was a breath-taking view! I wish I could transport all of you there right now for a look! What followed was a fun reception with hilarious toasts, a rowdy photo booth and tasty treats. All in all… a great wedding to be a part of. We have the best job.

Heather and Michael’s Wentworth by the Sea Elopement

They called it a “Planned Elopement,” and that’s just what it was. They fell in love, built a life together, and decided they wanted to get married. The catch was they didn’t want to have a huge wedding. After talking it over and letting thier families know, they moved forward with a teeny tiny wedding with just them, their little dog Harley, the Justice of the Peace, and us.

It’s funny how much you can grow to care about a couple in spending only 3 hours with them… but Dan and I were all in with this one. They charmed us with their banter and their laid back attitude towards the details: iPhone music coming from my camera bag, a locked dock that was supposed to be the ceremony location, and who was going to keep an eye on Harley, (he wandered around the whole time free as a bird). What they weren’t laid back about was just how much they loved one another. It was electric. You could feel it. You could see it. It was evident in each and every moment of the time we spent with them.

They exchanged vows on the dock, spent a few hours with us taking photographs to share with their loved ones, and then… we all sat together and shared a bottle of wine, all having taken part in a romantic evening marked by a wedding and photos to go with it.

Jess and Eric’s Baltimore Maryland Wedding

It was a perfect weather day, with autumn colors in the trees. Eric was preparing on the second floor of the Elkridge Furnace Inn while Jess and all her bridesmaids were up on the third floor. After the ladies were all ready for the ceremony, they took a few moments for prayer and prayed for Jess and her new role as a wife to Eric. It was beautiful and my hands were shaking as I photographed these moments. One of the bridesmaids was one of our brides from last year! You can even see Jess and Eric in Natalie and Thad’s wedding blog post. Gotta love seeing your friends at a wedding right? The ceremony was stunning as she walked down the aisle with ethereal light behind her. They sang and prayed and promised one another they’d be together forever. After the kiss, the party was on. During the reception there were four musical performances, one being a performance of “Swept Away,” by the Avett Brothers, sung by Eric and their friends. Their enchanted tea party themed reception closed with a final dance of the bride and groom before the left for the night. We were so thankful to be there for their wedding.

Danielle and Will’s Kennebunkport and Falmouth Wedding

Danielle is quite possibly the most organized, efficient, down-to-earth, thorough, and thoughtful women that I have ever met. Every time we needed to talk about something in regards to the wedding, she was ON IT! Besides being crazy easy to work with, she had to have sent me three thank you cards throughout the time leading up to her wedding. I adore her…. which makes it really easy for me to see why Will does too. He made a great choice in marrying her.

We met them at Danielle’s childhood home where she got ready in her childhood bedroom. They had their first look on the back porch and then we all piled into a trolley and took to the streets of Kennebunkport and the beach to take photos of them and their bridal party. After two hours of photos, (amazing), we headed to the Woodlands Club for their ceremony and reception. One of my favorite parts of the night was watching these people break.it.down. on the dance floor during “Gangnam Style.” Yes… it was greatness. We wish both Danielle and Will an amazing marriage and are thrilled to have worked with you all this year leading up to your wedding. You are both wonderful.

Nancy and Roberto’s Boston Public Garden Civil Ceremony

Simple, pure, honest, family, love and happiness… these are the take home messages that Dan and I took home from Nancy and Roberto‘s Boston Public Garden Civil Wedding Ceremony. These two walked up, read over the plan and then simply took their place before their closest family and friends. The ceremony began humbly and with only one intention: to join these two in legal marriage forever. They laughed, she cried a little bit, and they promised to love each other forever. With a kiss and an embrace they were married.

Behind them, we could see over 3 brides and 3 bridal parties, and even one very happy Quinceañera group! Even though they were all lovely, I felt like we were with the coolest couple in the park… the CITY for that matter. The only thing that mattered that day to them was love and it showed. Walking around with them we passed a crazy stressed out bride focused intently on her photos and I looked back at Nancy and Roberto and loved that they had just gotten married too… and she was happily walking around the park, with all the attention going to the other brides. It was a really sweet feeling for me, to see that humility and the happiness that these two were showing on this, their wedding day.

We had a blast in the park and then headed to their dinner, where they hosted their family and friends, celebrating their newly born marriage. It was a wedding I will never forget.
