Groton MA Wedding: Matt and Taylor

Taylor and Matt’s wedding was such a fun day. They both had ample chill time pre-wedding, hanging out with their crew’s at the hotel before being shuttled over to the Barn at Gibbet Hill! During the ceremony, a rare and but wonderful occurrence happened… Matt cried as Taylor walked down the aisle to her. Some might say it’s cliché, but we rarely see this happen here in stoic New England. It was so refreshing and made us all melt. Her beautiful veil may have had a little to do with the drama since it was a mile long and being blown dramatically by the wind. It was a pretty incredible moment between these two.

Afterward, we knocked out some family and wedding party photos and then it was full-on party time. There was even dancing BEFORE dinner. That always bodes well. We love being a part of FUN weddings, and this one sure delivered.

Woodstock Vermont Wedding: Maddie and Ray

What a happy happy day you guys!!! Maddie and Ray were married at the Woodstock Inn in Vermont in May on a gorgeous day. I mean it was such a gorgeous day that Dan and I laid on a blanket in a park and talked about life and love for our pre-wedding time. It was the New England dream. Ray got ready with this crew in a game room, of which they took full advantage. Maddie got ready in a lovely space near a river, with all the Vermont charm you could want. They met up for a first look before the ceremony and got out some of those inevitable jitters.

The ceremony was a colorful celebration of the love they have. Hot pink! Yellow! White! Blue! Afterwards we headed to the cocktail hour and reception where Maddie and Ray busted out one of the greatest first dances we have seen! The whole ballroom erupted with applause when they finished. Again… happy happy happy! Toast followed and had the room in tears, seeing just how much these two are loved. It was a happy happy day. Get the happy theme yet? I hope so.

Simsbury Connecticut Engagement Session: Erin and Tommy

We have known Erin since our first season as Bethany and Dan Photography! We photographed her sister’s wedding in 2012 and have been connected with this family ever since. We were over the moon for her when she met Tommy, who from all accounts including our own, is a total treat. Being asked to be a part of two weddings in the same family is always a high high honor and we literally could NOT be more excited for their upcoming wedding.

Erin’s grandmother lived in Simsbury, and she wanted to have the session in this town where she and Tommy have so many sweet memories. They even had their first “day-date” at Rosedale Farms Vineyard, one of the locations in this session. After a hike up to the top of a nearby overlook we geeked out about the dreamy light and views we had for the end of the sessions. All in all, a great Wednesday evening dont you think?

Emily and Jason’s Castine Maine Wedding

We love this family. Emily is part of the famous Russell family, through which we have met and photographed some of the most fun couples there are! Remember Lyndsey and Ben? Hillary and Matt? Emily and Kate? All from this family and friends. Emily and Jason’s wedding took place right at the edge of a cliff on the gorgeous coast of Maine. There was a refreshing ocean breeze blowing as she walked down the aisle to marry her (now) husband. It was such a heartfelt ceremony, with many stories, prayers, and reading, including a thank you from the couple themselves. Some of the lines in their vows were so romantic I definitely shed a tear, to happy to see them become husband and wife. They need to be married. All is right with the world now that they are .

After such a romantic ceremony, all that was left to do was party! All their guests headed up to The Manor Inn and we took a few photos before heading up ourselves. Toasts, special dances, cake cutting, and then a dance party not to forget!

Amber and Colin’s Bar Harbor Maine Elopement

Amber and Colin live in NC, our home state! It was fun hanging out with some fellow North Carolina people on a sweet Saturday in May. They chose to elope way up here in the great state of Maine, simply because they thought it looked like a beautiful place (never having been here before). Now THAT is my kind of couple! Amber’s sister Megan came to officiate in a little gazebo overlooking the harbor. After their vows were said and the kiss was given, it was official! We all commented on how fast it happens once you are actually having the ceremony itself. Dan and I were the witnesses, signing the license, which was one of the big things on my wedding photography bucket list. Talk about an honor right?! The light was crazy too this evening. Take a moment to look at the sky in these photos. So much drama which is exactly how I like our photos. We spent the next couple hours strolling around the little town, even finding a USPS mailbox that we could send the license out with! Who ever get to witness that part eh? It’s a pretty important part too! We love photographing weddings like this and are so happy for these two!
