Stowe Vermont Wedding: Colleen and Kirsten

Kirsten and Colleen’s wedding was bursting at the seams with smiles, laughs, and love. Really you guys. Other than a handful of moments that moved everyone to tears (and rightfully so), all we saw all day was HUGE smiles and belly laughs. What more can you ask for on a wedding day?

The couple decided to have their wedding at the Trapp Family Lodge, in Stowe Vermont. Colleen’s family has been vacationing there for decades so there really was no other place they could imagine saying their wedding vows. We were so excited ourselves since this is one of those venues that we have wanted to photograph in since we were first starting out as wedding photographers. High Fives all around! It did not disappoint.

Both women walked down the aisle with their fathers, who also jumped up at the end of the ceremony to help them both down from the ceremony platform in tandem. So cute. Next we all headed over to the tent for dinner and dancing and a huge helping of more smiles and laughs and of course… as Colleen would say… love love love!

Waterboro Maine Wedding: Julia and Ryan

We had only talked on the phone with Julia and Ryan, never having met them in person. Although that happens to us every once and awhile, we always have a tiny worry in the back of our heads that we just don’t really know who we are about to meet. Within moments of arriving though Julia bounded out of the house with a huge smile, a hug and an entourage of friends. We knew were in for a good day.

Julia and Ryan got married in her family’s lakeside cabin that had been in her family for generations. She wore a generational gown and her veil had extremely important vintage family lace on it. A family member had also done all the tailoring for her so the dress was beyond precious. That being said, she was far from fussy about it, rocking that dress in the rain like a champ!

Did I mention it rained. Right after the gorgeous ceremony, the rain started and kept up almost all night. It was kinda perfect timing actually. We all ran into the tent and enjoyed food that I won’t soon forget. Not only did they hire the ever delicious Fire and Company for the meal, but her family also made home-made sushi in the cabin kitchen. I ate more than my fair share of that because when else do you get home-made sushi at a wedding? You tell me!

We loved being a party of this wedding. It was just our cuppa tea.

Verona Island Maine Wedding: Abby and Brian

I imagine that Abby and Brian’s private backyard farm wedding on an island in Maine is kinda a dream wedding for lots of couples. It was almost like out of a Maine fairy-tale really.

Hear me out: The weather was unbelievable. The ladies got ready in a cabin along the water. The ceremony took place it perfect light. The decor was creative and fun, unique and personal. The reception had both live music and a DJ. There was a lighted teepee and a bonfire. The dancing was hilarious, sweaty, and phenom. She wore two on trend and comfortable wedding dresses. Are you with me yet?

It was a wonderful night to be a friend of these two and also to be a photographer.

New Hampshire Lake Wedding: Marie and Mike

For years and years, Marie’s family vacationed to the beautiful Newfound Lake, in Hebron New Hampshire. It really was no question as to where she and her beau Mike would eventually get married. Overlooking her favorite place in the world, surrounded by family and friends, she and Mike said yes to forever. Dan and I found ourselves in one of the most welcoming, fun-loving, energetic group of guests we can remember. From walking into the Inn where the ladies were getting ready to set up in the dancing barn for the party to come, we were greeted with smiles and high energy. It was such a fun day to be a part of.

Some of my favorite memories and mishaps of the day, all gracefully handled:

Marie’s dress taking 45 minutes to get into due to a broken clasp! Marie was a champ and her ladies were rockstars, eventually sewing her into the dress. AND we were on time. Boom!

A delivery set-up car, having its battery die, while it was parked directly in the center of the ceremony area. It was fixed/towed/moved before any of us ladies could learn about it and the problem we solved! Boom times two!

A round of shots with the bridesmaids right before walking down the aisle.

The speeches were absolutely wonderful… a perfect mix of funny and tenderness. Well done everyone. Well done.

The dance party, complete with a flash mob dance by Marie’s family, a custom “shout” towel, made just so Marie could lie down on the floor and not get her dress dirty when we “get a little bit softer now,” and some really romantic husband and wife snuggling in the center of the dance floor.

All in all…. it was a joy.

Christina and Chris’s Fruitlands Museum Wedding

One of the most highly anticipated events of the year!!! Im not kidding either. When I say anticipated I mean they contacted and booked us in August of 2013 and shot their NYC engagement session the next month! I have yet to meet a more organized plan-ahead get things done bride than the new Mrs. Zimbelman. Every single detail was planned out LONG in advance and these two were calm as cucumbers on their wedding day because of it! They were also so so SO fun,  with enthusiasm for our work from the very beginning, Christina knew how to make me feel special, which really was above and beyond anything a client ever needs to do. She cheered when I got there and immediately put ME at ease. Now how is THAT for a bride?

It was absolutely without a doubt a perfect day for their wedding. Everything was built around the view at the ceremony and it was the best time of year and weather for it! I mean just LOOK at how beautiful it was. We had 2 separate times in the day to photograph them both before and after the ceremony which was awesome! The reception had so much good food: sliders and popcorn included. When the buses came to take everyone to the after party at the end of the night we could barely believe that it had all happened, just as they planned, beautifully, and FUN!Christina and Chris Wedding 0016 Christina and Chris Wedding 0090 Christina and Chris Wedding 0100 Christina and Chris Wedding 0130 Christina and Chris Wedding 0135Christina and Chris Wedding 0164 Christina and Chris Wedding 0177 Christina and Chris Wedding 0184 Christina and Chris Wedding 0200 Christina and Chris Wedding 0210Christina and Chris Wedding 0297 Christina and Chris Wedding 0338 Christina and Chris Wedding 0357 Christina and Chris Wedding 0366 Christina and Chris Wedding 0405Christina and Chris Wedding 0414 Christina and Chris Wedding 0430 Christina and Chris Wedding 0476 Christina and Chris Wedding 0601 Christina and Chris Wedding 0612Christina and Chris Wedding 0774 Christina and Chris Wedding 0902 Christina and Chris Wedding 0952 Christina and Chris Wedding 1048Christina and Chris Wedding 1058Christina and Chris Wedding 1182Christina and Chris Wedding 1217Christina and Chris Wedding 1007
