Cape Elizabeth Maine Wedding: Greer and Richie

When they say Canadians are nice… its as true as can be. We may have actually never photographed a nicer more considerate couple in all our years, and that is really saying something since we have some of the greatest couples out there. Greer is from Canada and Richie from Texas, so its a polite and nice (and overly apologetic) trifecta. Richie’s family has had a place here in Cape Elizabeth, Maine for years and years so it was a no-brainer for them to travel to the great state of Maine for their wedding.

Greer actually wore two wedding dresses! The first was for the first look, and the second was for the ceremony and the rest of the day. Richie didn’t even notice though until after the ceremony. It seems his mind was on other things, like vowing his future to this wonderful woman.

Lobsters, beers, and donuts followed, which is never ever a mistake. We are so grateful that we got to meet these two humans and photograph their wedding day. Such a couple of superstars.

Marianmade Farm Wedding: Gina and Fred

For our very first wedding at Marianemade Farm, Gina and Fred showed us how its done beautifully! SHE Lux Wedding knocked it out of the park. We loved the overall feel of the day, especially how the couple sat right smack dab in the middle of the dining space, completely surrounded by their guests. It had such a good feeeeeel to it. O and those bouquets… they were SO PRETTY!

Even though the weather threatened to be wet, all it did was give us some pretty clouds and an appreciation for the lack of rain. Gina and Fred were so goofy with each other which bodes pretty dang well for the future. You gotta be able to giggle and laugh together for longevity and they certainly can. From the preparation, to the ceremony, to the dinner, to the dancing, Gina and Fred’s wedding day was a lovely lovely lovely one.

Two Lights Wedding: Jen and Khaled

This wedding was right up our street. Khaled and Jen are warm, inviting, comfortable, confident, and have built a local empire together, in addition to building a family and life together. Yeah… all that.

These two own two local businesses (The Blue Lobster and The Scenic Route Maine Tours), have two children and have more than one additional family and friends that live with them too. They have been together for ages. After crushing it at life for so long, all they had left to do was get married.

It was a misty rainy kind of day and they decided to keep with the plan and get married in the rain. We LOVED it. There were lots of umbrellas and no one melted like the wicked witch. I also loved that all the men had raindrop spots on their suits during the family formals and the wedding party photos after the ceremony. It was unique and super cool to us. After the ceremony and portraits, we headed back to their home for the reception. One of my favorite moments of the night was that their kids refused to let them have the first dance all alone. After about 2 seconds, they ran on to the dance floor and wanted to participate. I guess that kinda sums up the wedding in a way… in a good way.

Side note: I also sprained my ankle at this wedding, right after the ceremony, and proceeded to walk over 3.5 miles throughout the rest of the day according to my Fitbit. Two weeks of rest, ice, compression, and elevation followed but it was totally worth it. Thanks to Khaled’s dad, all the way from Saudi Arabia, for being the nicest kindest most concerned person ever for me, after watching me tumble head over heels down the stairs. Even Dan wasn’t as kind as you that day. You were the sweetest. <3

Boston University Engagement Session: Kim and CJ

Kim and CJ were dead-set on heading over to their Alma Mater for our session with them and we are so glad they were. It was a hot day in Boston. The kind of day that you are both happy happy happy for the heat but also wanting a reprieve. We got it in a micro rain shower right in the middle of the shoot. We hung out on the street (and even the stoop of the dorm) where Kim lived while she was in school. Then we headed over to the Chapel and then to a tiny nook on the Esplanade. It felt super Boston and really really good. These two are so easy together and you can tell that they should probably get married eh?

New England Outdoor Center Wedding: Sara and Tommy

This was only our second time at the NEOC in Millinocket Maine. We were super excited to go back and see another interpretation of a wedding there. Sara and Tommy were so easy to be around and to photograph. To give you an idea, Sara literally didn’t wear shoes the whole day once she put her dress on. She walked around everywhere with her soles connected to the dirt and the rocks and the water and the grass of beautiful Maine. My kinda girl!!!

After the sweet ceremony, full of laughs and smiles, everyone enjoyed cocktails by the lake. It’s such a fun cocktail hour venue because its a stunning view and always so so laid back. We loved photographing the crew enjoying the hanging dock. Dan and I even took the same photo from two angles at about the same time without talking about it. #synchronicity

These two were down for anything… as you’ll see soon. Couples who are adventurous, laid-back, in love, and confident, are all we want in this world. Such a pleasure to hang out with these two, their hilarious and kind friends, and their super inclusive and loving family.
