Bar Harbor Maine Elopement: Andarla and Tim

Andarla and Tim disembarked from a cruise ship, checked into a tiny Inn, and got ready for their wedding, just a few short hours after they got on land. We met them at the Inn and photographed a few final touches of their wedding look, and we all walked to the lawn of another Inn, for their intimate ceremony. I don’t have the eloquence to say it how Erika, the officiant, said it, but it was an outward ceremony of what had been in their hearts for a long time before this day. Tears and hugs and kisses were intermittently mixed with kind words, loving letters from friends who were not present, and vows for forever. Wedding ceremonies can be afterthoughts, but not with these two. I will always remember just how special it was.

We whisked them away to a secret spot in Acadia and photographed them as fast as we possibly could since they had a dinner date, a trolly tour, and a boat to catch, all in a short window of time. Even in all the bustle, they invited us to have dinner alongside them with their family. It humbles me to this day, how welcoming these two are. What a day to be a wedding photographer…

Portland Maine Wedding: Eliza and Ian

Gentle. Kind. Polite. and very very very in love.

Eliza and Ian got ready in rooms next to each other in the Press Hotel in downtown Portland. Eliza had the penthouse suite of course 😉 Once they were both ready, we all went up to the rooftop deck for their adorable first look. You’ll see the joy when you get to those photos. It was precious. Once we were done up there, it was already time for family photos and then the ceremony. It felt like a whirlwind! Before we knew it, Eliza was walking into the ceremony space, with her parents by her side. Just like that, they were married.

During the reception, the toasts were so complimentary. We could tell that these two were really loved by their community of friends and family. They are both such GOOD people with so many accomplishments and achievements it would make your head spin. Pair that with the fact that they complement one another so beautifully and you have yourself a perfect couple!

O yeah… then the party started and it was super fun. We loved photographing everyone throwing down on the dance floor.

Eliza and Ian’s Engagement Session

Portland Maine Engagement Session: Mandy and Jeremy

Yay for couples who let us choose an industrial street art lesser photographed part of Portland! For Mandy and Jeremy’s engagement session, they were down for anything. They hopped out of the car with their little fur-baby Tux, and were ready to play. We met them in the up and coming neighborhood of East Bayside. We had wanted to photograph there for ages because of all the cool murals and colors. Everyone wants to go to the Old Port and the water, (which we get completely because its ALSO rad), but this time we went elsewhere, even to the little park near our house, which we had ALSO been wanting to photograph in. Thanks to these two we got the meet our photo goals all while hanging out with a puppy and pure love. Not bad at all if I do say so myself. It was also fun to see Jeremy come alive when we went to the woods. He is a nature lover through and through, even telling us the names of so many plants and trees the whole session. I was so impressed. It reminded me of my Dad, who does the same. exact. thing.

Try not to smile taking in these images. Don’t Mandy and Jeremy and Tux just exude happy?

Stonington Connecticut Wedding: Stephanie and Jay

We headed down to Connecticut for Stephanie and Jay’s wedding. I remember feeling welcomed the moment I walked into the room. Stephanie has a way of putting people at ease. She and her mom were just relaxing all alone in a room while they had their makeup done. No music. No chaos. Just getting ready calmly for her wedding. This kind of peace continued the whole day. After a first look, wedding party portraits, and a few last minute touches, it was go time! Wedding time that is…

The pretty marshy woodsy background decorated both the ceremony and cocktail hour. Everyone headed inside for a special meal, that Stephanie was really involved in since she is a Nutritionist. Yummy yummy! Next came a special dance for her late father, where everyone came to the dance floor and danced to some of his favorite songs. It was such a sweet and fun dedication. These two souls are kind and good and we were honored to be there with them for their wedding.

Queens New York Wedding: Nicole and Jeff

O my Lord have mercy do we love these two…

Nicole and Jeff are mega in love and everyone knows it. Being around them is like being around a reminder of what it looks like to be enamored with one another while being completely comfortable with who you are together. Its just right you guys. Just right. We had been looking forward to this wedding since before Nicole had even met Jeff. No lie. We adored Nicole and hoped that one day when she met the truly amazing man that she would eventually marry, that we would be there to witness and photograph it. Dreams do come true!

The wedding took place at the Metropolitan Building in Queens, NY. It’s a huge funky loft space that is what NYC wedding dreams are made of. Views of the Queens, and lots of cool old furniture were everywhere. During the ceremony, they joked about Tinder and guests coming ALL THE WAY from Manhattan, and before you knew it, they were official. Drinks, toasts, dinner, and dancing were up next… including a first dance that honestly made me cry, (which rarely happens during a first dance). Moon River and Close Slow Snuggly Dancing apparently gets me. <3

One very important detail to point out: They are BOTH redheads. Dan wanted me to point that out.
