Portland Maine Engagement Session: Gina and Ryan

Gina and Ryan are the cutest! We met up with them here in Portland because they love our little city and wanted their engagement photos here. Some ivy, some cobblestones, a baseball field, and the ocean were the things on their list and luckily, the Portland area has it all. We started in town and hit up a few spots, then headed over to Cape Elizabeth for some #sports. Gina is from the Chicago area so she has an oppositional team as a fave from Ryan’s top choice. They make it work somehow though. Lastly, just as the light was fading, we headed over to Fishermans Point in South Portland, one of Dan and I’s favorite spots for photos. A super Portland-y engagement session with this two lovies… enjoy!

Point Lookout, Northport Maine Wedding: Christine and Mitch

These two…

Christine and Mitch have that kind of electric love. You know those people that just radiate it? These are those people. We like that.

Overlooking the Penobscot Bay, these two said “I DO,” and become a married couple! Just see how happy Mitch was in some of these ceremony photos. It was such a gorgeous backdrop but even so, they stole the show with their words, tears, laughs, and cheers. Next, we all headed to the reception where he scooped her up and over his shoulder for their grand entrance. To say they were stoked to be married is definitely an understatement. After the reception, they had an after-party at the resorts bowling alley where there was arcade games, music, macaroni and cheese, and pizza. Yes please! I’m so glad we were a party of their wedding and got to know them even just a little bit. Here’s to our future double-dates you guys!

Bar Harbor Elopement: Michelle and Skyler

Elopements you guys…. SO GOOD!

Michelle and Skyler decided to have a private ceremony, as they termed it, “a wedding for two.” As they mentioned in their “Meet Our Couples” blog post, “Bar Harbor seemed like the perfect spot, since Sky grew up near and loves the Ocean, and Michelle has fallen in love with the rocky coast/scenic views. It is far enough from home that it makes a nice getaway trip for an elopement/honeymoon, but close enough that we could revisit it and relive our wedding for years to come.” I mean… you can’t argue with that logic. I love that they are already planning on revisits to celebrate again and again.

They had their ceremony on the lawn of the Bar Harbor Inn and Spa, with us and the officiant as the only witnesses. After making things official, we piled into the car and headed into Acadia for portraits of the two of them. It was their first time seeing the National Park so it was so fun to show it off to new eyes! Every single place we were, Michelle heard compliments on her dress, which was fun. I think it might just be the most complimented dress we have ever photographed. #winning

We love the laid back feel that elopements provide and Michelle and Skyler’s wedding was just that… relaxed, romantic, and all about love.

Longlook Farm New Hampshire Wedding: Dana and Nick

The day of Dana and Nick’s Longlook Farm wedding in New Hampshire, a HUGE thunderstorm rolled across the state. Dan and I were eating our pre-wedding lunch when the sky opened up and poured down rain by the bucketful. When we arrived though, the whole place just shined like it had just had a good bath… because it had! Thanks to that thunderstorm, we even got a big old rainbow to bless the day.

They both got ready at the cabin on-site and then had a first look full of tears, kisses, hugs, and laughs. We took a lot of the family and wedding party photos beforehand to make room for partying on the other end of the day. A music and love filled ceremony on the lawn lead into cocktails and appetizers. The barn held the dinner and dancing.

A few of my favorite moments from this day (and there are a lot) are as follows:

  • Dana singing Nick a couple of special songs during the reception since she is, in fact, a professional singer. So good.
  • The rainbow. Obviously.
  • Sparklers, a Campfire, and SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM.
  • And…. of course… the last song antics, which we will never ever forget. Dana and her sister Olivia, climbing into the rafters. Dancing and singing till the end. #unforgettable

Boston’s North End Engagement Session: Taylor and Matt

Just a tiny stroll from their apartment was where we spend the whole of Taylor and Matt’s North End engagement session. It was a HOT summer day in Boston and we met them at home before venturing out for some photos. Nice even light and the sound of thunder in the distance, kept us moving fast until the skies opened up and ended things abruptly. Sad face. You can always count on the summer to hit you fast and hard with pop-up storms. Thankfully these two souls are mega cute and in love so getting that on camera was a breeze, even in the limited time we had. I can’t wait to see them get married in 2018! Fingers crossed the weather’s a little more favorable on Cinco de Mayo next year.  Either way though, we know they’ll still be smiling and winning hearts left and right.
