Danielle and Josh’s Portland Maine Engagement Session

Danielle and Josh are one of our 2015 wedding couples and are getting married in Bar Harbor! I can already taste the popovers and jam at Jordan Pond, which we will most definitely be hitting up when we make the trek up to Acadia. If you have never been, put it at the top of your bucket list. We met these two at the Gisland Farm location of the Maine Audubon, a place they picked out. It was a colorful fall day and the weather was what people LIVE for up here! We just walked around and took photos in all the beautiful light Dan and I were seeing… everywhere! The two of us had never been to this spot so it was fun to be able to go and photograph there. Afterwards, we went to East End Beach here in Portland, where we got to hang out and photograph their fur-baby: Sophie! It was really fun to try and make a different session out of this photographically speaking, since we had been to East End Beach only a few days prior with Katie and Luke. The light rewarded us yet again and we got to put these two in front of a GORGEOUS pink and purple sky. I loved how much Josh loved his fiance AND his puggle and just look at how well they were styled! I loved her Camel coat. It was a couple hours filled with a smitten couple.

Sara and Brian’s Freeport Maine Wedding

One of the most adoring couples we have ever photographed were married in Freeport, Maine this October. It was a gorgeous day filled to the max with love and fall colors. They got ready at the Harraseeket Inn, which would be the site of their reception too. After getting all dolled up, each took a ride in a Bentley to the ceremony. One funny moment was when we realized there weren’t enough seats for Sara, her parents, her sister, and me to all get to the ceremony in the car together. We ALL jammed in this automobile together like clowns and laughed the entire way to the ceremony. A family friend and priest performed the ceremony, which was full of laughs, unlike the sometimes overly serious ceremonies that happen on wedding days. With a kiss, they exited the ceremony and were back in the Bentley for a little ride around Freeport before heading to their reception. Another moving moment was the mother son dance. I think she was letting the moment really sink in, which I wonder is missed in all the fuss on wedding days. It was touching to all in the room. It was a joy to share the day with these two people who are hopelessly, fiercely, and wildly in love with one another. What more could you ask for?

Meghan and Drew’s Georgetown Massachusetts Wedding

This wedding was a party… full fledged the whole time. Meghan and Drew live in California and they brought that vibe right back to Massachusetts. Meghan got ready in her childhood home, which is always my favorite tone setter for the day. All the ladies were wearing the bachelorette shirts they wore at her bachelorette party in Vegas… proclaiming, “Drew Who?” They all rode in a party bus to the ceremony. Do you see what I mean about a party day? They were married at the boarding school where they met long long ago! I loved that touch. How often can you get married where you met?? Dan and I would have had to have our ceremony at a public swimming pool. Not quite as perfect as Meghan and Drew’s ceremony spot.

It was a black and white event, where I even suspect that the guests were asked to don their best LBD’s since I saw a WHOLE lot of them. Everyone could have passed as a bridesmaid! The funnest part of the day? The fact that the dancing was almost non-stop outside of the events of the reception where you couldn’t be dancing. As I was editing I remember thinking, “Ok and now we are to the dance party. O wait. Nope. That was pre-dancing. O and then some more pre-dancing. And even more!” Congrats to you guys! You threw a fun party and now… YOU’RE MARRIED!

Sarah and JT’s Portsmouth New Hampshire Wedding

If you want to know what a natural beauty looks like… look no further than the new Mrs. Thompson! Sarah is 100% gorgeous, complete with lashes that go for miles and a smile that just won’t stop. It is all kinds of heart-meltingly good times to watch John, (JT) gush over his bride. The two of them together are so cute it hurts my teeth. F’real.

We started the day at the Harborside Hotel where they were both getting ready. One funny thing that happened was that my camera bag was sitting next to Sarah’s bags so when her girls took Sarah’s things to the honeymoon suite… my blue camera bag went with them. Talk about a heart attack!! Luckily it was only a few rooms away and was completely gettable… but still. Whew! We all headed to the trolly and then the church where they exchanged vows and made it official. (That’s what this is all about after all). I loved Sarah’s long exhale right before she started her walk down the aisle. Keep your eye out for the photo.

The party started and was up and going until the last song. I loved watching the girls singalong with the band, on the mic no less! All in all, it was a wonderful day and we were glad to be a part of it.

Sarah and David’s South Boston Engagement Session

These two…. We are so EXCITED to be working with them on their sure-to-be-incredible wedding at the Fairmont Copley Hotel next year! Just imagine how amazing that is going to be looking at the connection the two of them have together. We are already counting down the days!

For their engagement session, we met them AND their dog “Beans” at their home in Southie. We headed out to a nearby park where we watched beans run around all over the place, like the mayor of the park. It was hilarious. Between Bean runs, we took some photos of the two of them in a place they go almost every day. I love how personal that is. Now every time they see these photos they can be reminded not only of this experience, but that this is truly a part of their normal life, where love really lives (normal life).  Im ALLLLLLLL about that. Next, we moved to Castle Island. Dan and I have wanted to photograph a couple there for a really long time so were were so happy when they suggested it! WIN! The sky was unreal and we were able to get some epic sky shots that we can’t get enough of. All in all… it was an awesome way to spend an evening. O yeah… then we went out for dinner with the two of them afterwards because why not?
