Jess and Eric’s Baltimore Maryland Wedding

It was a perfect weather day, with autumn colors in the trees. Eric was preparing on the second floor of the Elkridge Furnace Inn while Jess and all her bridesmaids were up on the third floor. After the ladies were all ready for the ceremony, they took a few moments for prayer and prayed for Jess and her new role as a wife to Eric. It was beautiful and my hands were shaking as I photographed these moments. One of the bridesmaids was one of our brides from last year! You can even see Jess and Eric in Natalie and Thad’s wedding blog post. Gotta love seeing your friends at a wedding right? The ceremony was stunning as she walked down the aisle with ethereal light behind her. They sang and prayed and promised one another they’d be together forever. After the kiss, the party was on. During the reception there were four musical performances, one being a performance of “Swept Away,” by the Avett Brothers, sung by Eric and their friends. Their enchanted tea party themed reception closed with a final dance of the bride and groom before the left for the night. We were so thankful to be there for their wedding.

Jess and Eric’s Rehearsal Dinner in Baltimore, Maryland

After Jess and Eric’s Mini-Session, We all went inside and took part in their extremely sweet and heartfelt rehearsal dinner. Each table was themed, encompassing important elements in each of their lives. The first two were Ireland and Guatemala, followed by University of Alabama and Georgia Tech and lastly Coffee and Tea. The food was home-made with love. We were even welcomed as a part of the event, and they introduced us to everyone and said thank you! I cried… obviously.

After a tear-jerking video and tearful speeches, Eric’s sister read some hilarious pieces of marriage advice that waer written down in crayon by some of the children that were there. My favorite was, “Bunnies,”  followed closely by “Eat mac & cheese and go places with your friends.” That’s sound advice if you ask me. Next came prayers and pumpkins. What is not to love?

Jess and Eric’s Baltimore, Maryland Engagement Session

Jess and Eric had us come to their rehearsal dinner and beforehand the four of us spent a few minutes taking some photos of just the two of them. It was a perfect way to get a little more comfy before their wedding day. It’s amazing to me how couples can let down their guard so quickly and simply have fun with each other with two big fat cameras in their faces. Even only spending around 30 minutes with them, they were able to let go and get down to being cute… as you can see here. This was a pretty good indication of what was to come on the wedding day… coming soon to the blog!

Jasmine and Raul’s wedding at the Hotel Viking in Newport Rhode Island

Jasmine and Raul were married at the Hotel Viking in Newport, Rhode Island on a beautiful day surrounded by their closest friends and family. That is a sentence I can use at many of the weddings that we photograph, (sans the location) but never has the phrase, “surrounded by their closest friends and family” meant more. There were less than twenty people at the wedding, just as they intended. We headed to the ceremony site, and the light in the church was heavenly… no pun intended. It was so intimate, and so close among everyone there that we felt like we were ALL vital to the ceremony in some way. As Raul said his vows to Jasmine, I can only assume that they rest of the people there were crying as hard as I was. It was unbearably romantic.

Following the ceremony we hung out all over the town taking photographs of the newlyweds. I love the way everyone cheers and claps for the bride and groom when we are out and about with them. This time a family even stopped and took a photo with Jasmine and Raul! We headed back to the Hotel, where Jasmine changed into a reception dress so she could dance a little more free with Raul for their very important and choreographed first dance. They had been practicing for weeks! We all sat down for dinner, including Dan and I and the officiant, which blew me away in such an intimate setting. It was truly an honor to be a part of their wedding day.

Danielle and Will’s Kennebunkport and Falmouth Wedding

Danielle is quite possibly the most organized, efficient, down-to-earth, thorough, and thoughtful women that I have ever met. Every time we needed to talk about something in regards to the wedding, she was ON IT! Besides being crazy easy to work with, she had to have sent me three thank you cards throughout the time leading up to her wedding. I adore her…. which makes it really easy for me to see why Will does too. He made a great choice in marrying her.

We met them at Danielle’s childhood home where she got ready in her childhood bedroom. They had their first look on the back porch and then we all piled into a trolley and took to the streets of Kennebunkport and the beach to take photos of them and their bridal party. After two hours of photos, (amazing), we headed to the Woodlands Club for their ceremony and reception. One of my favorite parts of the night was watching these people break.it.down. on the dance floor during “Gangnam Style.” Yes… it was greatness. We wish both Danielle and Will an amazing marriage and are thrilled to have worked with you all this year leading up to your wedding. You are both wonderful.
