Lisa and Suzy’s Portsmouth NH Engagement Session

Where do I even begin to tell you about Lisa and Suzy? When Dan and I first met them this past February, we met quite possibly the most welcoming people in the world. Even though we were there to talk business and find out if we were going to be a good fit for their wedding, Dan and I felt an almost immediate comfort around them, like they were hosting us, even in a restaurant. When we left that night, Dan and I felt like we had stumbled into an unforgettable relationship and we were blessed to not only know them, but to be able to photograph their wedding this July.

After 18 years together, Lisa and Suzy will officially tie the knot in Portsmouth NH and we cannot wait to be there to not only photography it, but to see two of our friends marry one another.

For their engagement session, we met them at the Venue where they will be holding their reception and got to see the place up close and personal before the big day. After the rooftop fun, we headed to their house and met their two dogs, and got to just spend time with them while they did what they do, which is honestly the most genuine place for couple to be. It was a pleasure.

Amber and Mark’s Rehearsal Dinner in Boothbay Maine

After the Mini-Engagement session, we all headed unto a boat for a sunset cruise around Boothbay on the Harbor Princess. Many of their closest friends and relatives enjoyed Lobster Rolls and local beers, as we all watched the sun do its setting on the best weather of the weekend. It was especially notable because the following day was weather to remember, with almost 4 inches of rain and high winds. After 2 hours on the boat, we landed and everyoone headed over to a local place for oysters and drinks. It was just as you would imagine… Maine at it’s finest.

Try to avoid licking your computer screen when you see the “lobstah.” I had trouble editing it without my mouth watering.

Amber and Mark’s Boothbay Harbor ME Engagement Session

Amber and Mark wanted us to photograph their rehearsal dinner, but the boat ride would only last 2 hours. They decided to have a mini-engagment session with us before we all embarked on a cruise around the Boothbay area. The weather was unparalleled. It was truly the most perfect weather in my opinion for a day in Maine.

During this session, they gave one another gifts.  Amber gave Mark a handsome watch and Mark gave Amber diamond earrings, which she showed off all night long, (and I assume for years to come). Mark actually grew up in Boothbay. As we were walking around the town and visiting some of his favorites spots, (including the candy store he worked at as a kid), I asked him if he was aware of this place. What I meant was, did he see the town for all its beauty and charm, or was it simply home and therefore not on his radar? He assured me that it was not lost on him. Whew!

Danielle and Will’s Cambridge MA Engagement Session

We have to start by telling you that the way Will looks at Danielle is something we don’t see a lot. He adores her and there is absolutely NO denying it when you see how he holds her, snuggles her, and simply looks at her. It was almost distracting. The energy between these two was something to note. It was like they had known one another all their lives but were in no way, over it.

On the day of our engagement session, Danielle had just moved to Boston, to be with her fiancé Will. As much as she misses Philadelphia, she was so happy to be starting a life with Will here in Boston, even though he won’t eat bologna and she loves the stuff.

We walked around near the Charles and then headed to their neighborhood in Inman Square and visited some of their favorite local haunts. It was a perfect evening, full of laughs and nuzzling. Their wedding looks like it is going to be a joining of two people who will be together forever.

Dane and Michelle’s Virginia Beach VA Wedding

It was slightly overcast and breezy outside the day of Dane and Michelle’s Virginia Beach wedding. The weather said it was going to rain. As Michelle got ready, I heard almost no mention of the impending rain but rather casual chat and comfort among friends and family. Michelle seemed completely unphased by the fact that their wedding may be a rainy event. It was clear that her sole focus for this day was to marry Dane. During the first look it was impossible to keep a dry eye. It was just so sweet to see how excited Dane was to see his bride! Dane and Michelle have been together over seven years and that history created such a comfortable environment. They just knew each other so well that this felt like a celebration of something that everyone involved felt sure of. It felt like it was meant to be without question. Michelle is Dane’s girl… and there is no doubt about it. The way he looks at her was enough to make me cry sitting at home editing these photos! That is how intense and honest this love story is. It rained, and it cleared up, and most importantly of all the weather had no effect on their day. It was… perfect.
