Chebeague Island Inn Wedding: Scott and Grace

It takes a real effort to make it all the way to Chebeague Island. For us, it took 1 uber, 1 ferry, and 1 shuttle to get to the weddings, followed by a long walk, 1 ferry back, 1 bus ride, and 1 more uber, to get home. That’s right. BUT… that’s what makes an island wedding so special. All that effort makes being there all the more magical feeling. Then you add a confident lady marrying a smitten man, and you have yourself a recipe for wonderfulness.

Scott and Grace know how to be present and enjoy the day. We saw them all day, interacting and enjoying their friends and family throughout the event AND secret snuggly glances at one another in the midst of it all. I particularly loved waiting for the ceremony with Grace. It was just the two of us for almost 15 min, talking family dynamics and the nuances of weddings. Such a special memory for me that I have even mention when trying to explain what makes wedding photography so special!

York Maine Wedding: Laura and Craig

When you are happy happy happy to get married, this is what it looks like. Puppies. Family. Laughs. Smiles. Bear Hugs. Good food. Good drinks. I mean other than personally owning this mansion by the sea, I don’t really know what else you could want. For Dan and I, this was a wonderful gentle re-entry into photographing weddings in the post-2020 world. Kind people and lots and lots of real love.

Don’t miss the face that Craig makes when he sees Laura walking down the aisle btw. Iconic.

Acadia Elopement: Sloane and Claire

Sloane and Claire turned their wedding processional into a road trip, making their way from Chicago to Maine for their Elopement. Acadia, (and us) greeted them with open arms, the first event for 2021, in a post-vaccine world. What a good feeling it was to be working in a new calendar year, witnessing these two ladies say “yes” to forever.

Please note how cool these two are in their jumpsuit and plum suit. Wowza. We named a favorite photo spot of ours after them that night. If we ever take you to “Queens Rock,” you’ll know who the namesakes are.

Scarborough Maine COVID Wedding: Sarah and Justin

When we called Sarah and Justin letting them know we could reschedule if they wanted to, they said no way. Even waiting one more day to get married (and avoid a huge storm) wasn’t worth it to them. They wanted to be married and that was all that mattered. It was so sweet to hear that there was only one focus for them. We met them at the Inn by the Sea, and then it was all set up for digital guests via zoom and video. Sarah got in her dress and walked out of the hotel room door to the patio, where Justin was waiting. That was all they needed.

Afterwards, we just spent some time in the room photographing them and then they changed into other wedding outfits, and we photographed in the room a little while longer. It was just that simple. And now… they are married. Love love love…

French’s Point Wedding: Andrea and Brandon

Andrea and Brandons wedding was one of the few “big” weddings we were able to photograph during the 2020 Pandemic. It was near the end of the year and all the guests were tested prior to arrival. Masks were prevalent, of course, and other than that, it was a relatively “normal” wedding day as far as pre-covid times felt. That being said, there was nothing “normal” about these two in terms of being so so kind and so so in love and so so fun to photograph! I miss Andrea and Brandon often and wish they lived here so we could be friends!

After a sweet first look, we went down to the nearby water for a few wedding portraits before the ceremony, since the sun was setting right afterwards! Those late fall timelines are always a challenge but so worth it. After the sweet ceremony, we went inside for the reception. I remember loving the fact that we got to be on a dance floor again, as foreign as it felt, it also felt so so good.

I’ll never forget this wedding because the next day Andrea texted and asked if we left a light behind. We did. So we met up with them at a local brewery and hung out. Thanks for sharing a couple hours of your honeymoon with us Andrea and Brandon!
