Tony & Britt’s Brooklyn NY Engagement Session

Thunderstorms of epic proportions were predicted for the evening of Britt and Tony’s NYC engagement shoot. Britt emailed early in the morning wondering if we should do the shoot at all, and Dan and I were gloomy about the prospect of missing yummy warm buttery light of the sunset due to storm clouds. The idea of postponing the shoot came up and neither parties were really excited about the idea at all. Who could have known that our collective bravery would soon pay off and the evening would be filled with the absence of rain and the presence of warm buttery light and a couple very very very in love…

Britt and Tony are the kind of people you should hang out with if you ever doubt that true love exists in this world. How much do you want to just be their friends? I know we do! We left their engagement session energized and even a little more in love with each other than before. Thanks for the  energy and happiness you two, and the tacos!

Chris and Katy’s Chapel Hill NC UNC Engagement Session

The weather in NC had been unseasonably cold for a few days leading up to Chris and Katy’s UNC engagement session and we were getting nervous. The stars aligned however, and it was a nice winter’s day just in time for their session. We were all relieved! Katy and I, (Bethany) hit it off well, discovering that we were both High School Marching Band Geeks! Dan and Chris could talk about boating for hours, since they are both really into all things boats. It was a match! Chris was on the UNC Chapel Hill Men’s Crew team, so we got a backstage pass to the boathouse for their session. We were overwhelmed with how cool it was. Put Dan and Bethany anywhere near water and boats and we will go crazy with photos for you. It’s a guarantee. Chris and Katy, we really really enjoyed getting to know you both a little more and we absolutely can’t wait for your wedding in August!

Andrea & Matt’s Portland ME Portrait Session

Andrea and Matt live in the most adorable city of Portland, Maine where Matt is a builder and Andrea is a kindergarten teacher.  They have been married for a year and wanted a few photos of themselves “while they are still young and good looking!” The “good looking” part will probably stick around longer than they think… as you can tell. They were so fun to photograph and kept US laughing pretty much the entire time. It’s easy to see why their marriage is so strong… they laugh together! Please note that this took place at night in the freezing temperatures of Maine. They were up for it so we had to be too. It was nice to finish the night in their warm cozy apartment, sampling the yummy chocolate chip cookies they made and petting their feisty cat Cleo.

Gideon & Autumn are Engaged!

Gideon was Dan’s roommate in college and he was even in our wedding! Needless to say, when he contacted us and told us about his plan for a surprise engagement to his lovely girlfriend Autumn, we were so in! Being “in” involved scheming, and travelling 7 hours to Charlotte, and climbing to the top of a mountain, but it was all worth it. Autumn was completely blown away seeing her boyfriend (who lives in Curacao by the way) at the top of King’s Mountian. She thought Gideon was a jerk not coming to see her in the states for Thanksgiving… haha. When she saw him, she collapsed to the ground. It was awesome! How beautiful is Autumn by the way? Remember that she just hiked to the top of a mountain?  Take in the view. Feel the love. Try not to be jealous. We are.

Jennifer and Bart’s Kiawah Island SC Wedding

Bart and Jennifer were married on November 6, 2010 on beautiful Kiawah Island in South Carolina. Their wedding was an intimate gathering of their closest friends and family. We could feeeeeel the love. They brought Kentucky to the beach, watching the horse races any moment they could steal back to the TV. We never knew so much about horse racing until we met this family! Their cake was an exact replica of Bart’s boat back home and miniature pies went along with it. We joked that they had an inside line to God since the weather was so incredible and the sunset was completely out of this world.  At the end of the night, the sent up sky lanterns into the crisp November night sky. Have fun in the Key’s Mr. and Mrs. Miller!
