If you want to talk about a pretty fall day, we can talk about Kristin and Will’s engagement session at the Breakheart Reservation near Boston, MA. Yes yes, that’s a funny name for a place to photograph true love, but it was actually a blast and a half! The leaves were stunning and it was quiet. Any worries about the light not coming through the trees at the park were wrong. It was lovely! Will knows how to make this lady laugh! She was rockin her carefree giggles the whole time. It was easy as pie to photograph them. Kristin and Will met in college, when she jumped on him one day and said “Hi!” We can tell you the rest of the story when we photograph their wedding next June.
Pat and Amanda’s Boston Common Engagement Session
Not a lot of couples are down for an early morning engagement session. Our fall calendar was filling up fast and Pat and Amanda wanted to have their engagement session in the sweet Indian summer we are having here in Boston. When the prospect of that was looking grim, we all came to the conclusion that a crack of dawn session would work out the best. HIGH FIVE to these two! Morning light is delicious as you will see. Pat was such a great sport getting up early to snuggle his future wife in the morning sun. Who can blame him for being completely fine with that? Take a  look at his stunner of a fiance, Amanda. We really enjoyed being with these two, walking in the Commons, the Public Garden, Charles St, and Beacon Hill. We left them feeling high on life. We should do more morning sessions for sure! Pat and Amanda… thank you for spending your early morning with us and being so understanding of what early mornings can be like. 😉
Kristina and Kevin’s Portsmouth NH Engagement Session
Kristina and Kevin both work in the drug industry… a Pharmaceutical Sales Rep and a Pharmacist that is! I caught up with them in Portsmouth, NH in a little pub called the Common Man. Kevin ordered me an iced coffee as soon as I got there, which makes him perfect in my opinion. It was such a nice thing to finally meet them after being hired as their wedding photographer for a long time prior! We headed to the river, but not before a stop at another bar for lemon drop shots! We took some photos near the river and in the historic parts of town, and walked through the city finding cute nooks and picturesque walls, (I have a thing for walls and nooks). To finish the evening, we headed over to their wedding site on the NH Coast. It was dreamy light on the shore and the absolute perfect temperature outside. It made me want to move to New Hampshire! Just before we parted ways for the day, we stopped by a local legendary ice cream shop, The Beach Plum!  I cannot wait for their wedding!!! -Bethany
Tony & Britt’s Brooklyn NY Engagement Session
Thunderstorms of epic proportions were predicted for the evening of Britt and Tony’s NYC engagement shoot. Britt emailed early in the morning wondering if we should do the shoot at all, and Dan and I were gloomy about the prospect of missing yummy warm buttery light of the sunset due to storm clouds. The idea of postponing the shoot came up and neither parties were really excited about the idea at all. Who could have known that our collective bravery would soon pay off and the evening would be filled with the absence of rain and the presence of warm buttery light and a couple very very very in love…
Britt and Tony are the kind of people you should hang out with if you ever doubt that true love exists in this world. How much do you want to just be their friends? I know we do! We left their engagement session energized and even a little more in love with each other than before. Thanks for the  energy and happiness you two, and the tacos!
Chris and Katy’s Chapel Hill NC UNC Engagement Session
The weather in NC had been unseasonably cold for a few days leading up to Chris and Katy’s UNC engagement session and we were getting nervous. The stars aligned however, and it was a nice winter’s day just in time for their session. We were all relieved! Katy and I, (Bethany) hit it off well, discovering that we were both High School Marching Band Geeks! Dan and Chris could talk about boating for hours, since they are both really into all things boats. It was a match! Chris was on the UNC Chapel Hill Men’s Crew team, so we got a backstage pass to the boathouse for their session. We were overwhelmed with how cool it was. Put Dan and Bethany anywhere near water and boats and we will go crazy with photos for you. It’s a guarantee. Chris and Katy, we really really enjoyed getting to know you both a little more and we absolutely can’t wait for your wedding in August!
